I agree with this, but don't you think that FA's blocking should be more than 1 sec in this case? I don't see how yellow + blocking is just as bad as passing under red.
Out in Q2 - MS, FA, Monteiro, Klein, DC, Heidfeld. Good for Kubica - he makes it into Q3. Now it's up to Massa to save face for Ferrari. Carol
I wasn't talking about the totality of their respective penalties. I was referring to passing under red versus passing under yellow.
Hope Massa gets pole with Kubica in P2!!! This ranks on the "Farce Scale" right up there with Indianapolis. Carol
Yes it does, but given that MS is 1 sec/lap faster than everyone but Massa, I wouldn't quite expect him to finish out of the points. I almost expect to see him on the podium, behind Massa and Raikkonen (he'll pass Fisi during pits or an extended first stint).
No kidding. If Barnie and Mad Max want to make racing more exciting, fix the cars and the tracks so races are won via racing, not through pit strategy or endless twerp-arsed f***ing false melodrama.
Is Michael's 1:18.875 a lap record!?!?! I think Speed TV guy said the F2004 held the record at 19.1, right?
Everyone needs to root for Button to get p3 or 4 in final qualifying. That will put him between MS and Alonso. He's p5 after the first round of hot laps...of course, Barrichello is 2nd, so he's sucking wind a bit. P5 still bumps FA down to 16th.
I hope you are right! Hey - Massa just took P1. Button needs to move up to 4th place . . GO Jenson GO..... (how's that?)
Good point, hadn't thought of that. Looks like there's a fairly good chance of that happening given the times they have been putting up. Mark
Even there you're wrong. Yellow flags are shown only at the point on the track where it is dangerous to overtake. Red flags go out all around the circuit. Thus it is possible to overtake under a red flag in an area where it is perfectly safe to do so.
1 Rai 2 Mas 3 Bar Button droped due to engine penalty down to 14th......which means there's another car in front of Alonso
Raikkonen steals pole from Massa??? WTF Felipe? Button finishes 4th, knocking Alonso back to 16th. Fisi limps in at 8th. Final grid order (adjusted for penalties): Raikkonen Massa Barrichello De La Rosa Webber Schumaker (the other one) Fisichella Trulli Kubica Heidfeld Schumaker Coulthard Button Klein Alonso Monteiro Liuzzi Rosberg Slow Sato Albers Yamamoto MS needs to get away from the Trulli train. Looks like Toyotas are running heavy, so you know he'll slow things up. Will he make it to the podium?
A little twist at the end with Kimi suddenly appearing from "nowhere" to take pole - Massa gave it one heck of a good shot. MS has to contend with getting ahead of Trulli and Fisi tomorrow which may prove interesting. Plus he's in the middle of the pack which of late is not the place to be at turn 1. Interesting. Carol
