My 328 is leaking coolant. When I run the car it leaks a drop a second after I shut it down it drips much more. The dripping is coming from above teh exhaust pipe and heat shield just next to and above the oil filler plug. The frame also drips in this area. I have checked the thermostat housing dry. Checked the small connector hose clamps off the thermostat to the aluminum pipe dry. Aluminum pipe itself dry. water pump rebuilt last year and weep holes as well as under the pump seems dry. Where could this leak be coming from???

Thanks very much for your help
    Dave

You going to need a cooling system pressure tester to find the leak. You can buy the tool and any autoparts/tool store. Once you have this tool, finding the leak will be very easy.

Buy the location you are describing, it sounds like your leak is comming from where the aluminum pipe from the t-stat housing joins together with a rubber hose down near the alternator. Also chek to be sure the pipe is not in contact with the alternator pully which will wear a hole in the pipe.

just a thought, i read here in a post that a 308 had the entire engine bay and engine painted white. seems odd but that would help spot any leak very fast. maybe one day when i'm bored and pull the motor again i might do that just for kicks. or not.
