Which F-Car is the most fun to drive?

I have driven pretty much everything since the TR in the mid 80's, and I would have to say that for me its hands down the F40 for track, and limited street driving. Then the 512TR as an all out street machine .................

I don't know how accurate this story is; but, hey this is the Internet, right?

Apparently, Ferrari used only one test driver at Fiorano when it was developing the setup for the 360 (and by implication the later Stradale). This is why the 360 car has a relatively narrow range of set up factors and why it likes to snap and spin on American tracks, which are bumpier and have more elevation changes than Fiorano.

The 430, however, was tested on more tracks by more drivers. Thus, it has a wider range of set up factors and feels like a big ass go kart on the track. At Tremblant, our 430 cars were set up for the track (chamber and caster and all that stuff). Admittedly, we were not going anywhere close to its limits, but I never once felt like the car was the least bit unsettled. In fact, it was the opposite. I felt like the car was tauting me because I was driving like an old lady.

It was a much better car than I am a driver.

Challenge Stradale.. Mostly because i got to drive it on the track and once you track a car , road driving doesnt feel that special.

 

The most fun driving Ferrari for me, has got to be the 246Dino. That car is simply a wonderful experiance. The sound, handleing, and the feel of the spartain interior just screams "drive me"! The gearbox is a joy and the controls are right where they should be. The car is not fast by any means, but because it does everthing so well, the speed does not matter. It feels like your doing a million miles an hour when you're pushing on it, but really speed is quite sane.

Second is the BB512 any version. These things are just plain cool. The heat of the interior, the big flat 12 pumping away behined you, and the high speed "bobble" on sweeping corners is enough to give anybody a hard-on.

Of the growing list of Ferrari road cars and other cars I have driven, the F50 remains at the absolute top of my list. The most pure sense of connectivity I have ever experienced in a road legal, closed wheel car; the most intoxicating and inspiring exhaust note which has ever fallen on my ears.

Could you give me some information about 10852?

 

I have a 348 and a 360, both Spiders. The 348 is a drivers car. The top down shifting it is a wonderful experience. The steering is a bit hard and the shifter requires your attention. Just the way a road car should be.

The 360 is fun but more like a daily driver. Very easy to drive and very comfortable. I don't think you can wrong in any Ferrari.

 

It is a very subjective question. To me?

The more basic, bare-bones a car is, the more fun it is. For ultimate thrills, is there seriously any question? Old homologated racers, then, challenge cars. The manual versions are slower, but give you heel-toe-goodness.

Beyond these track monsters, I enjoy the older cars more when the task is to drive for, say, an hour from point A to B.

However, day to day life make having modern accouterments of later cars and the creature comforts contemporary models offer are a welcome compromise.

Be careful admitting around here though, some may ask for your purity card and question your Tifoso credentials if you're caught driving say an FF, or heaven forbid a PuroSANGE.

 

Yeh, agree with the above. The F40 is certainly a value for money (or used to be) Ferrari.
The F40LM even better but for road use .....not really.

However your question regarding Ferrari to DRIVE ..............
the 1950's cars you do actually drive. That means a manual box, sometimes no syncr.....
Does the younger generation know whats that about.

I had this every weekend to enjoy in Hawaii for 3 years , took it to the mountains always amazing car.

 

over the summer i drove a pista, testarossa, 575 and a 308 gt4 dino.....

guess was the most enjoyable...

Honestly, it was a no brainer -- impossible to beat the driving feel of those early V8 cars!!

 

The most fun I ever had driving a Ferrari was driving through Italy in my 458 Italia.

As long as it's a manual transmission, that would be all I would care about.

This topic come up on every single forum, and I don't care what anyone says, having a manual is the only true way to make that 'pure' connection to a car and utterly appreciate the inputs and outputs this gives the driver.

So my answer ... any old school manual without driver aids, and if it has a Ferrari badge on it EVEN BETTER !!!

I've owned and driven 308 (Euro and US), 328 (Euro and US), Testarossa, a couple of 512TR, three different colored 550, a 550 Barchetta, 330, 250 GTE and driven F8 and 246 Dino quite a bit. I've also driven the 360 and 430. I've even had the good fortune of driving David Lee's restomod 246..... and the most fun car to drive has been an F355 with tire upgrades and a Capristo. Second most fun was David's car. That's just how good a properly set up F355 is.
