What color tach do you have and what color is it? What color do you think is easier at read either during the day or in the evening? (I am assuming the tach is available in either yellow or red only) Any other colors?
Red and yellow are the only choices, and IMO yellow is more readable under all conditions and better looking to boot. Gary
Have yellow on my Silverstone/Cuoio Spider. The coolest thing about the yellow is that it glows yellow at night when the lights are on. I believe the red one just blacks out.
i would go with yellow. not only does it glow in the night beautifully, but i think that the orange needle with the red tach doesnt work for me.. they blend too much
No, the coolest thing is that it glows during the day, with the lights out, in tunnels, etc, anywhere with low light. Gary
someone should post two pics for comparison...i've never seen a red tach. Yellow would be a lot easier to read than red, though.
I have walked from a few F430s simply because the tach was red. Yellow is the far superior choice for reasons already stated IMHO. best regards, Jerry
Red is awesome! Classy and very good to read, especially at night where the illuminated yellow one does outshine the information IMO! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Really? I never knew that. I used to wonder what colour tach would go with a black/black f430 with black calipers but know i know!
When I was at Homestead-Miami Speedway, in April, I saw two 612s (pictures 1 & 3) that both had black tachometers... The first picture is of a Grigio Ingrid 612 (137650) with a tan interior... The second picture is an all black Superamerica (145124) that was for sale at Ferrari of Beverly Hills back in April... Black wheels, black leather Daytona seats, GTC package, carbon fiber interior trim - the works... This car was advertised as having a black tachometer... The third picture, a blue/tan 612 (146541) was seen at Homestead in April and at Infineon in May... Both times I saw it, it had the same NJ plates - similar to all of the NJ plates that adorn FNA cars; so I believe this car is a "company car"... When choosing mine, I was concerned the red would be hard to read, but I really don't like yellow and my wife hated it even more, so I got red. It's now been a year and 5K+ miles. Reading it has never been a problem under any conditions. Yellow just looks garish to me. Dave
Have yellow now and ordered yellow for my F430. The red isn't really red it's more of a maroon color and doesn't light up like the yellow one at night. Plus it matches the yellow Ferrari emblum on the steering wheel, just looks better/easier to read day & night imo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually, the needle lights up or gets brighter in some way. Easy to read at night or any other time. Dave
