Would not trade my manual GTS for anything. Sure I'd like to add to the "collection", but this one is staying.

I thought about trading my 355 Spider for a 360 but could not find any reason to make the change drove the 360 nice but not the same raw feeling of the 355.

Its funny how some say the 355 is raw, I really like my 355 but would not consider it raw at all especially compared to my BB but the 355 wins in the handleing department as its phenominal.

What causes the different driving experience of the 355 compared to a 360 is the 360s drive by wire set up, I have heard it from another local F car owner who had both the 355 and new 360 and prefered to drive the 355 over the 360 as it was more fun. I do like both though.

I would take a 355B over any modern normal Ferrari except the CS. The CS is purely what I want in a Ferrari, a race car for the street.

I'm proud to own one of the best Maranello masterpiece!!

Actually I am staring to V12 such as F550, but I sure have to think twice before any decision made! I will test drive and compare it to my belove F355.
I know everyone has to move on but to better one absolutely. Unless, I wouldn't........................

    Thanks guys for all ideas!

    I'd have a 360CS over any 355, but I'd have a 355 over a 360.

    Then again, what do I know - I'd rather have a 348 over a 355 :D

Drove the CS a couple of weeks ago. While the car drives better than the basic 360...I am afraid to say that I don't know what the big deal is about the car. The car still lack's mid range torque...a huge miss for me if I am going to need to spend. the c$200k USD to get one here on the East Coast. I terms of exhaust note a F355 with tubi blows alway the sound of a CS with the factory set up. I also did not like the factory race seats when driving on the road, however I am sure that the grip around the shoulder area would be great on the track. But there is no way that a CS is worth 2 or even 3 F355's...period.

    Looks are subjective.
Handling and enjoyment are more tangible however.
If you are tracking the 360, you will definately need the Aero Pack to improve handling on the limit, unless you want to get seriously intimate with the walls.
This I believe confirms that in standard form, the 355 has a better fundamental chassis / set-up to the 360.
If you want more power PLUS better handling, you have to take a leap to the F430.

A long time porsche driver I have been looking at multiple ferrari cars for several months now. I have always thought the 355 is the most classic of all the ferrari body styles. I have looked at 355, 360, and 430 cars. My final conclusion is that 360s are just priced too high compared to 355 cars and that I would rather make the jump to a 430 rather than pay top $$ for a 360. But like many of the previous posts my conclusion is to stick to a 355 and have spent many months looking for the perfect 6 speed car. I have finally narrowed it down to two cars, a 1995 355 coupe, red/tan 6speed with 3,000 miles or a 1999 355 spyder red/tan 6 speed with 4500 miles. Both cars have recently been fully serviced. The coupe has won several car shows and is as close to new as I have ever seen. Tough decision, but going to have to pick one this week.

    NYC123,
all the best with your pick, whichever you choose...
Would you care to share the asking prices for both the coupe and the spider, interested in the current market.

Wow! What a fabulous praise to the 355! I could not add very much to the great comments about the 355 in this thread.

I am sooo happy with my F355 spider! I can't get enough of the sound and the racecar like suspension!!

So to NYC123, get the spider!!! You can hear the engine even better with the top down!

I'm sorry, but does anyone know what they look like in a convertible Ferrari? Really.

Well, after much debate and many months of looking for the absolute pefect Ferrari I decided on the 1999 red/tan 6 speed 4,300 miled 355 spider. It was an easy choice as I found out today the 1995 355B was already sold. Plus I was suprised to hear the price on the 355B was 89k, it sounded quite high. The car was as new as any I have ever seen and apparantly the buyer was happy to pay the price as the car had several car show wins over the past couple yeas. (I still think to high being a 1995 model) I payed full price for my spider at $100k, but it's the cleanest example I have found anyplace, and recenly had the full belt servie and new tires. I pick it up on SAT and can't wait. I can always move in the Ferrari food chain to a 360, but 355s as clean as this one are becoming very very rare.

Congradulations!!! Great move on the year too (1999)!! The valve guide issue that has plagued the earlier versions should be a non-issue. $89K for a 1995 does sound a bit high.

I bought a 1997 F355 spider that had the valve guides, hyperflows and clutch done during the 30K service. Who said you can't buy happiness....?

    NYC123,

Good move on the Spider!!! You won't be disappointed... As far as your comment on moving to a 360 from the 355, there is another thread going around that you should read 355 vs. 360.. I think you will be happy with the 355 for quite some time.....

For all you 355 owners who love your go karts so much, I have a simple mod that makes an enormous difference. Get your shocks rebuilt from Delta-Vee. I had mine done a couple months ago and it was like driving a 355 when it was brand new back in the 1990's. My 96 spider only had 9 k miles on it at the time and I was "shocked" to discover what a difference the rebuilt shocks made. Rob over at Delta Vee can do a core exchange so the shocks can be changed right out. From a pure driving standpoint, the additional enjoyment garnered from this mod rivaled or even surpassed the MS Racing exhaust with Hyperflows that I did earlier. Anyway, just thought I would pass this on to other 355 lovers, It will indeed tighten the bond you already have with your baby! Happy driving!
