Hey that's my turf! Favourite route when I'm not in a hurry to get home; surprised the traffic didn't bug you on a weekend though. Next time try a late afternoon run from Eumundi out through Kenilworth and up the range through Conondale to Maleny - lovely run, few 'cars' at that time of the day, and best of all the locals make way for you to go through unimpeded (in my experience).

Traffic was only really an issue on the last bit going home through Dayboro.

The rest of it was fine and the locals were very well behaved.

Kamahl? Is he still going? My Grandma liked him and she's been dead for more than 20 years.

Alright here are some more photos for you. And I have a couple of sound clips that I will try to get up.

I won't post the one I took of Gekko sleeping, all the boys from Alice know what that looks like already. And it wasn't even a Lamborghini video this time.

If I remember correctly I only nodded off on the lounge for a short time while the lamborgini video was on.

Not wanting to dob but I believe it was Peter that was passed out on floor during the entire show in the back room.

    Cheers

BTW This time I will call for extenuating circumstances... otherwise listed as 10 coronas, 1 x btl chardonnay, 10 x Jack Daniels, 10 x some shooters Cam found, 2 x btl shiraz, 2 x Canadian club, 1 x btl shiraz which I thankfully passed out during :)

    It was a big day!

Well now I've re accquainted myself with the gf, I actually have some time now to write a bit up about the weekend. ;)

What a weekend! Started off by Gekko picking me up from my sister's (as I spent the friday night in brissie, instead of heading up early saturday), only time I think that streets going to have a Ferrari in it. Every time we heard a door close my sister would say 'Is that him', to which I replied each time with 'No we'll hear him before he can open the door'. sure enough we heard him coming 3 streets away. And the chills set in.

Pictures really don't do this car justice the black is just soooooo sexy and the tan interior is a beautiful contrast.

So we head out up Mt nebo. Some great roads out there, and plenty of bikes. Even a couple of kamikaze cyclists. Thought we were going to score a hood ornament. Then our little encounter with the boys in blue. Can't believe we didn't think to get a photo of them. After that a fun drive with a couple of good squirts just to let a XR8 know that we could lose him if we wanted to. Then the photo shoot at Somerset Dam, well pond anyway.

Then on to lunch, where a bloke on a motorised platform was parked next to us at the pub at mapleton. Not much of a challenge. Sitting on the verandah looking down on the spider was perfect. Then on to Maroochydore, only get lost on one roundabout lol.

By the time we had polished off a few coronas we figured we better get some food before we started to stumble. Great grub up there. Followed by plenty more liquids at the surf club and we demostrated our ability to pick all the horses that could run last at the trots. Before heading back for some more drinks before stumbling to bed (or the couch in Gekko's case :D)

After waking very gingerly on Sunday, and after a interesting breakfast, we discovered amazingly that Gekko was under the limit, we headed off. Another blast through the hills, some great windy sections up there. And then a slight section of touch and go with the fuel level.

Then after pulling into the carpark back in Brissie we realised that we hadn't given the Intercity bypass tunnels a run so out we went again. To finish the weekend off perfectly. God only knows what the other people in the tunnel were thinking was happening!

So once again thanks to Gekko for a blast. And I'll try and get all the photos up somewhere and put the sound files.

Thanks. I must admit I do like the historic plates. I also own Q360 which is now going into a frame along with pictures of the 360 and Q246 which will go on my Dino when I buy it one day :D

I know Q360 was originally registered in 1921 but don't know the dates for the other two. Given there are not many numbers between them you would have to expect they were within a year either side. Does anybody know how many cars were registered per year back then?

I don't think lightning will strike twice in the same place so you shouldn't have to worry about it :)

As to what they were doing... I really have no idea and have thought about it a few times since then. They asked for my licence and asked me to recite my address both of which is fair enough but then then grabbed a card filling out all the details of my licence and the car's registration presumably tying the two together since the car is actually registered to a company (trust).

Don't know if it helps them identify the driver though since anyone could still be driving it at the time of an offence if it ever happened.

Who knows, as I said maybe they wanted to know where the car was garaged at night!

    Cheers

Absolutely. I can tell you that they will all come from the Alice trip. I will just have to get permission from you all to use them but given you all like a drink I can't see that being an issue :)

I actually got the Q360 plates taken off when the front was being resprayed so I got them before they were cleaned which I think will add a nice authentic touch to the look.

    Cheers
