The dining rooms like very sexy yet elegant. Guy Savoy opened a restaurant in the city as well. But in Vegas, can you really go wrong with a dining venue? The depth and variety of restaurants in the city is amazing.
Guys, Jumping in on this thread late, but I am also in Vegas at the moment. Yesterday was my father's 60th bday, but we are celebrating it tonight at Picasso. Just wondering if there is a signature dish/es we should keep on our minds. We are probably going to do the 5 course, but neither of us have eaten at Picasso yet. What say you experienced folk? BTW, had lunch today with Ryan(ryalex) at the Wynn and then mosied our way over to the Penske-Wynn showroom. Paid the $10 and viewd the various cars. Didn't make much smalltalk with the staff, but they were pleasant. Showroom had a Superamerica, red Enzo, some 360s, 612s, Maser Gran Sports, and a few 430s. Ventured downstairs and saw a couple other 612s in the service area along with another 430 and a GT4. All the way downstairs were about a dozen 430s, more Masers, a Ford GT, Bently CGT, and a few 360s. We were both surprised we didn't see any 355s or 348s. And no vintage cars. All in all good fun. And the Ferrari store had plenty of goodies to get the wallet in trouble(like the 2000 F1 engine for $62k ). I settled for a shirt and some stickers, but there is a jacket that I am still contemplating, lol. Good luck with the move Ryan and congrats again on the new addition Ryan, here's an inside joke for ya...my bike !.?.!
I think when I was at Picasso I got the tasting menu but i'm not exactly sure. This was about two years ago. Anything you get there should be amazing though. It's one of the best restaurants in the city.
I recently ate at Michael's in the Barbary Coast. If you are not familiar with Barbary Coast Casino, it is a real dump, but the restraunt is a truly spectacular restraunt with the finest food & service that I have ever experienced. Dinner for two will set you back about $200 or so. Don't miss the Spinach Salad or the Bananas Foster.
Had a fantastic time/meal. They choice was between two tasting menus. I chose the first, my father the second. Presentation was definitely top notch as was just about everything else. The wine list was also very impressive to say the least. Going to come back at some point without a doubt!
Yea good call with the tasting menu. I just came back from Vegas two weeks ago. I stayed at the Wynn and it was top-notch everything. I took down three restaurants in Wynn; Bartolotta (amazing Italian), Okada (amazing Japanese) and SW (amazing steakhouse). I recommend all three of those. I didn't get to go to Alex though which is like the Picasso of The Wynn. I also hit up two restaurants at the Venetian that were very good but not Wynn caliber, Aquaknox (very good seafood) and Lutece (famous NY restaurant that I was pretty disappointed in, good but not great).
Good to know! Tomorrow night(err, today, Friday) we are going to the 7:30 show of Le Reve at the Wynn. Do you recommend any restaurant in the Wynn that we can duck into afterwards for a bite? Not looking to go too fancy for dinner tomorrow, just something casual.
Hmm... I only went to those three and they were more on the fancy side though Okada did have a sushi bar area that may work for a quick bite.
It was fun, biggest mistake is that we tried to walk the strip the first day... the next 3 days we had monorail passes and took cabs. I wouldn't stay at MGM again though. The room was small and the hotel lacked the whole theme element. There was no grand entry and most of all, it was way too far south on the strip. The pool area was great though, we took advantage of that the last 3 days we were there. Next time we'll stay at the Wynn or Bellagio. Had dinner at Mon Ami Gabi the first night at the Paris. The food was OK, but nothing to rave about. The second night we went to Mesa Grill in Caesars, it was different and actually pretty good. Earlier in the day we told by a salesperson at a watch store in the Venetian to not go to Delmonico, and to try to get reservations for Prime. Later at Mesa Grill I asked our waitor about Prime, Craftsteak, Delmonico, etc... and he said he would go to Prime. He then asked everyone on staff and came back with a notepad, where of the 30 or so people asked, about 25 said to go to Prime. We were able to get 7pm reservations for Prime on Wednesday. We got there and were able to be seated by the window along the lake. The view of the fountains was unbeatable. We had shrimp, and my girlfriend had Veal, and I had filet, with which we split a 2.5lb lobster. Maybe being from Austin, we don't have the best resturants in the US, but I'd say our meal at prime was the best I've had in recent memory. As for going out... We went to Ghost Bar at the top of the Palms the first night, after seeing La Femme at MGM. Ghost Bar had a great view, but seemed really small and had a rather strange mix of people there. The second night we went to Studio 54 in the MGM. I liked it a lot more than Ghost Bar, and the DJ (DJ P) was really good. The crowd was mostly older, but they seemed to just be having fun. The last night my girlfriend's cousin, who lives in Vegas took us out after dinner. She took us to a club called Cherry about 20 miles off of the strip at some resort. I really liked this place. It has a large outside area with a pool and some cabanas. She knew everyone there, so we got all our drinks comped, which was nice after 9 dollar beers... We stayed there way too long, and she then took us back to MGM and to Tabu. I really didn't give Tabu too much of a chance since it was alrady 4am and we had to leave for the airport at 9am. At about 4:30am I left my girlfriend with her cousin and went to pack and get some sleep. I think my girlfriend got home around 6:30am and needed to get up at 8:30am. So needless to say, she was pretty sick/drunk/unhappy on the flight home In all a good time, I'll try to post some pictures later. Here are the only ones I have right now... there are on some vegas club picture site from when we were at Cherry. One is of my girlfriend (brunette) and her cousin Megan (blonde). Other is my girlfriend (Tina), Megan, and her friend Nicole. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah we hung out with the "beautiful people" that night. Too bad their personalities weren't as beautiful...
They are, but the strange thing is it's the first time I met her cousin and we spent some time with her before going out, and she seemed to always be in character... which I thought was weird.
Thanks Last picture is of some band in the VIP section at Cherry... no idea who they were, any ideas? Nice. Cherry isn't at the new Red Rock Resort, is it? Where's the restaurant with your girl and you at, as well the food of the last pic?
Im sorry, but the last picture. The blonde on the far left. Bro--Very VERY sexy. Had to edit: ...And She Knows It! What happens in Vegas, STAYS in Vegas.
Yeah it's at the red rock resort, I totally forgot the name. The Red Rock looked really nice inside as well, didn't seem like the typical casino. The resturant was at Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris. We were able to sit on the patio, and catch the fountains going off. It was nice hearing the music as well as seeing the show. The view of the fountains from Prime couldn't be beat though, look at the last few pictures.
She's a VIP hostess at the Cherry, and best friends of Megan, Tina's cousin. I think she's a "model" as well. Think she was one of the only girls in Vegas I told my girlfriend I thought was hot... and was then told straight from Tina to Nicole >:-0 Gotta love the girlfriend giving you **** and making you look dumb ;-)
She's not a part of this crowd talked in this thread? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115992 BTW Peter, Did you manage to check out that watch store you were looking forward to?
Did you get to check out the watch stores in the Wynn? They have an official Rolex store and another one with lots of high end brands.
