Im trying to get a 348 targa top. So I emailed Eurospares for one. They said they have one to sell me.

    700pound.

I asked for photos and the photos are labelled 355. There is even written on the top of the targa 355. but in the emails only 348 are mentioned.

    Does it fit?

Is this too much for a scratch targa top?

    thanks!

You might want to see this thread.

I was told there are differences.

Are you sure you want a hardtop?

I seldom use mine, maybe it's a good idea to push Ricambi to deliver a softtop. They are just as usefull and don't need that much space. Never owned a softtop, but collected some pictures.

Strikes me as a better was to spent your money. Both is better off course.

How did you loose yours? Quite some speed....

If I can get that one cheaper then it would be perfect, hardtop soft-top I dont mind. I plan to make a carbon top and use the mounts from another top. This one might be the go as it looks much cheaper.

I dont plan to rip apart mine, because I like to keep everything orginal.

Ok, I thought you lost yours, wondered how.

Think, 700 pound isn't that bad. Last soft top ons e-bay (approx 2 a year) did 1000 dollars and more.

is it normal for them to come off and people loose them? :)

Well 700 is not bad if it fits, but I think the other thread said it didnt?

I don't think you are going to have much luck finding a soft top for this car. I think that the 348 and 355 tops are the same.

Paul Hill and I bought one on eBay > $1000 IIRK several months ago. I had it for about a day before sending it to London.

355 <> 348. Front latches (most expensive part of the whole assembly) are different.

Those pictures are the ones I took when I sold the soft top for the 348ts on Ebay, sold it to Daniel. Planned on using it on a 355gts but the latches are indeed different. Toyed with the idea of pulling the latches off the hard top and installing on the soft top but decided against it.

Daniel, are you still planning on having versions manufactured somewhere?

Isn't the softtop only rated at 100 or 120mph? So not an permanent solution? I also heard that the softtop leaks even much more then the hardtop.

Yes, but I'm deferring to Paul at the moment. We have the fabric side of the equation completed, and I believe the frame piece is coming along too. The latches are the next step.

Believe me, I wish it were moving faster too. Sadly, both Paul and I are pounded with other daily obligations of our respective companies, and the R&D of something like this isn't simple. Could we just throw together a cheap replica? Probably. Cheap replicas however are simply not what Paul or I want to be associated with, and I'd rather spend 3x longer to get a product that is actually better than original, and looks 100% correct. :(

So now I know who outbid me! The folding soft top would be a nice thing to have as it would allow for more leg room in the car (seat can be positioned further back).

If the latches are the only difference then it would be worth it to just switch the latches or buy new ones, they are only 800.00 apiece??? Where did that come from Ferrari? Another alternative would be to change the latch receivers to the 348 type.

Get that guy to make us some 355 wheel spacers already.
