congrats on your decision...my m5 is the best 'car' decision i have made in many years...best thing about this beast is that is virtually invisable to cops...pretty cool...

traded Audi S4? & you have a NSX? I assume the CTSC stands for Comptech Supercharger. If so, I believe we met at the aftermath of the S2000 Greasetrucks meet I organized. I love playing Sherlock Holmes. :D

Either way, congratulations on your new ride! and drive the NSX! :D

nice car! Also look into getting the clutch delay valve removed if the M5 has one. I have the baby brother, a 540i sport 6-speed. The clutch delay valve was designed to make clutch engagement smoother and less of a shock- works like the valve of an old record player arm being lowered slowly down- obviously faster than a record arm, but slows the action enough to make smooth 1-2 shifts near impossible. Yes, it has the opposite effect of what it was designed to do!! Anyway, I had mine removed when I first got the car and it greatly improved the smoothness....actually I had a guy who does some work on the cars drill it out so it's still there but does nothing- this way if anything happened while the car was under warranty they couldn't say I "modified" the car. The CDV is a bad design.

By the way, I love the wood interior over the plasticy alum., and I love the interior of the e39 body style over the new stuff BMW has out.

Do you have problems with the traction control kicking in for a split second with the 1-2 shift? The rare times I want to gun it quickly from a stop, I turn off the traction control for the 1-2 shift- there is so much torque that the tires chirp, and with the traction on it thinks you're skidding and cuts power for a split second...the M5 has more power than my car, so unless it has a more complex traction control system I'd assume you get the same thing.

Finally, I can believe your car feels like its standing still at 130, because the 540 does. The brakes are phenomonial as well. You may find yourself not being as impressed with the car after a year or so....just go rent a "regular" car and then go back to the M5, and you'll re-familiarize yourself with how awesome the car really is. No nose pitching on braking, great acceleration, best combination of ride/handling, etc. Keep in mind I'm comparing it to other sedans, not a ferrari or other sports cars ;)

Inspector Gadget over here. Got rid of the 05 Blazing yellow S4, CTSC does stand for Comptech Supercharged, which Ive had for about a year and yes that was my racing from work to try to catch the end of the S2K meet. Im racing and showing at Honda/Acura day on August 12 at Englishtown.

    Mike, congratulations!

I know you thought about the replacement for quite a while - seems like all the hard work was worth it.

Im the sales manager for Bridgewater Acura so its par for the course. No fee, no nada. Not bad eh? Someone just offered ridiculous money for the M5 so it doesnt look good. Thats the bad part when its not your money!
