My experience with Lamborghini Denver has been horrible. I spoke with the Sales Manager, Salem, about ordering a new Spyder. I came down and test drove two cars, egear and 6 speed in order to decide. Then he pushed for me to buy one of the three cars in inventory, none of which were to my liking (silver and black cars, few options). He wanted to do a two car deal with a buy back on a car I would take now. We speced the spyder in person that day, but he did not have prices, and said he would finalize the order and have it ready for me on Saturday. I told him I would come down and sign and give him a check.

Friday, he faxed me the final order sheet with prices. He told me to bring a check down on Saturday, and I said okay, but that I was only buying the Spyder, and not another car. He was very unhappy with that.

He told me that "that took the lustre off the deal, only selling one car, and that he might not have sold me the spyder if he knew that in advance." He said he could sell the car out of market for more money. In the end he did say he would sell me the car however.

He sent me an email late Friday afternoon telling me to bring a check for $15,000 to proceed. We agreed on Saturday.

This morning he sends me an email saying the car is sold, I can't have it.

I think this is unethical and outrageous. He made a committment, we specd the car, and now I am punished for not buying two cars. I called him and he said someone brought him a check first. He said it did not matter to him that we had an arrangement, or that he committed the car to me.

Buyers beware, this dealership cannot be trusted, and do not follow through on their word.

I have kept all the emails in case anyone wants to verify this themselves.

I am so mad I could spit.

Let me understand , he sold your position for his next Spyder ?

Isnt the fax with the price and the options binding ?

He sounds full of it. Typical tactic to make the prospect ante up more. People who do this are poor salespeople IMO, and behave that way because they lack basic negotiating skills. I would have asked the guy if the person it sold to also bought two cars and also how much it sold for. You technically didn't have a contract for purchase - maybe an implied one, but no real contract.

Ask when the customer is to take delivery and stop down there a few days later to see if it's still in inventory. If it is, he's a liar. Call him on it. If not, move on. There will be other cars. Good luck.

No, this order was for a Feb delivery 2007 Spyder. There was no contract, just an order sheet with my options and prices. The $15,000 was a deposit he demanded just to get in line for this car.

I believe that when I told him that I was only going to spend $227,000 on one car, and not buy another car off his lot, that he called the next guy who was being stringed along, and told him the order was available.

He sent me an email at 4pm Friday telling me that I needed to give him a check to hold the car. I said I'd be in Sat. Somehow he sold the order to someone between 4 and 7pm on Friday. Come on, someone walked in off the street and said, here is $15,000 for a Spyder. Got one?

He never had any intention of holding the car, despite me coming down from 100 miles away to test drive them, and staying in contact with him all week.

This dealership sucks. They live in a trailer, have four employees, one mechanic who is also the service advisor, no trailer for repairs. I't probalby just as well.

Roy Cats will get my business for sure the next time. I will never do business with Salem again. You can't believe anything he says.

unlike Ferrari, the wonderful thing about buying a new Lambo, is the fact that you are not limited in buying from your local dealer. my advice is to contact Roy Cats. there has never been a negative review about him and he has gone above and beyond.

That is shoddy. If he is the GSM, call the GM and complain. If he is the GM, GOTO the dealership and ask to speak to the owner and be loud while in the showroom. Be respectful, but LOUD if there are other clients there. If you still dont get your car, call Lamborghini.

If you have an email from him, requesting the $15,000 and the return one from him saying "it's fine if you come in Saturday with it" then he's a jack off and Im sure a prestigious franchise like Lamborghini will want to know whats going on and so will the owner. Lets be realistic, how many new Lamborghinis does a dealership deliver in 1 month? Not Many! Everyone one counts.

Make sure you tell them that you're buying Ferrari for the rest of your life and will tell all your wealthy friends how horrible Lamborghini in general is and especially Denver.

Something like that should get nipped at the Dealership level with the owner. The sad part is you probably dont even want to give them your money now and I wouldnt blame you.

You can buy a Ferrari anywhere too. Don't have to use your local dealer.

Dealers, aka Sales Managers, etc do not care one iota about the above statement. The car buisiness is a "right here right now" kind of buisiness. There is always plenty of fresh meat for these exotics and they know that. There is a dealership in Miami Fl that has a very poor reputation and that is known on all the Lambo sites. They have had this reputation for years. Yet they still are in buisiness and continue to sell lots of cars including Lamborghinis. Its kind of a game where they try to "hit the home run" on these deals and will do whatever it takes including scamming the client. IT has always been thus with many, not all, of these dealers. Wish it was not so.

I've just had a teriffic experience with Lambo of Las Vegas, dealing with Carl Cannefax the managing director. Not a Lambo which I have but a Quattroporte. Roy Cats made the introduction and things couldn't have gone smoother. Car not here yet but so far so good. Might be worth a contact...or call Roy (who DID help me with my Gallardo too).

Well in all kinds of business, there are bad businessmen. There are plenty of spyders at recognized and good reviewed dealers for you to choose from, anywhere in the world. If I were in the US and in the market for a lambo, I would call Roy Cats. I have read nothing bad about him, and would be glad to bring my business to him if I were in the US.

Happy purchase and enjoy your spyder when you finally get it.

    best regards.

Most people from Aspen are from out of state, like Cali.

Everybody here is broke including me. The only people here in Colorado Springs who could even afford a lamborghini or ferrari is people in the Air Force or people who are out of state that own a business.

The first Diablo I layed my eyes on was owned by a guy who owns a peanut business out in LA or something like that.

Otherwise most people I see with the Vipers, Ferraris and such are usally in the Miltary.

That's terrible news to hear. It's truely unfortunate that there are such businessmen with no means of keeping transactions as professional at all. Looks like I'll never going to Denver .

But you have to be in the "Ferrari Circle of Trust" for high demand cars. I understand why. But still, it's a stupid game. Should be first come, first served like Lambo.

Bluehinder, I would call Roy Cats as others on here have mentioned. He'll get you exactly what you want. Lot of people on this board and other boards bought from him and have nothing but praised about the situation. 1-866-LAMBORGHINI

Before everyone makes up their mind, we should probably seek out the other side of the story. It does sound bad, I admit. However, I'd like to hear both sides before making up my mind. For example, I dealt with a guy once that wanted to buy two cars I had. We came to agreed prices on the cars based on the two-car purchase. Since he was buying both (this was agreed up front and all pricing discussions were based on that deal) the individual prices were quite attractive. Then, at the last minute, he decides to only buy one, but demands the attractive price I offered (based on a two-car purchase). I said no, as that was NOT the deal. I am not saying that is what happened here because I don't know, but I can certainly imagine that a Lambo dealer with a free spider spot that soon is in the catbird seat in terms of selling the vehicle. If someone agreed to buy another car, that dealer might be much more likely to give the spot up at an attractive price (MSRP?). If the price was based on the purchase of an additional car, then that deal is off if the other car is dropped. The only fault of the dealer in that case would be naivete, as customers love to blow smoke on all the cars they intend to buy in order to get a deal on the one they really want- a wise dealer or salesman knows the story and is careful to make sure that everything they say to the customer is based on the facts of the deal, not speculation on what the customer MIGHT also buy. Anyone at Lambo of Denver want to give us their version of this transaction? Hate to see anyone go down in flames without even firing a shot.

The car was originally represented to me simply as an open allocation for a spyder at msrp for Jan/Feb delivery. There was no list of waiting buyers.

After discussions about the spyder, I was asked to think about buying a new car off the lot now. I said that was not what I had in mind, too costly, and Salem at Lamborghini of Denver asked what if I give you a guarenteed buy back price when you trade it in on the spyder. After getting the price of the new car, which was average, and the conditions (must be perfect in every way), I told him I'd pass and just take the spyder. Then I was told that now things were "different", and that "the lustre was off the deal". I asked if he was saying he would not sell me the spyder, and he said "no, I'll sell it to you, but the deal is not attractive to me, as I could have sold the car out of market for more money". I told him that was against Lamborghini policy for a local dealer. We agree to go ahead, and he faxed me my completed order sheet. Then the next morning he emails me (no phone call) and informs me that the car has been sold.

The price of the spyder from the begining was msrp. There was no list. I called out of the blue last week to ask about spyders, and was told there was an open allocation if I was interested.

I never played along with the two car deal to get a better price, I already had msrp from the begining. I can also state, that msrp is all I will ever pay for a spyder, as I will wait in line for a car as long as necessary. I will not pay over for this car.

I welcome any input from Lamborghine of Denver, and Salem Heller the sales manager I worked with. I will provide a scanned copy of my finalized order sheet with name, date and time, and well as all emails from the begining if anyone wants to see them.

There is no justification or excuse for the behaviour of this dealership other than simple greed. This practice of mark ups over selling to a loyal local fan base gives all Lamborghini dealerships a black eye, and reflects poorly on Lamborghini itself for not monitoring and policing the dealerships.

I post this only for the edification of future buyers. If more people took a stand to this sleazy business practice, we would all be better off.
