What in the hell is J.P.Sarti talking about? Fiberglass, stress marks? Is he still talking about corvettes designed in the 80s and older? Does he know that from 97 and up that most major panels on a corvette are NOT fiberglass? Sounds like one of those people that pretends to know what he is talking about based on OLD information and standards and mix of rumor and ignorance.

1997 and up have full length hydroformed steel rails and composite bodies, plenty out there with over 150K miles and not ONE stress mark or excessive rattles. If you don’t know that, you had a wrecked car or never owned a modern vette. The C5, 97-04, is the single biggest leap in covette history from one model to the next. Can’t compare it with older models.

Why do some people continue to open mouth and insert foot?

Very well then. I can accept that. Just thought you were trying to be an ass like some people on here. There are so many great cars out there other than Ferraris. Hell, I can think of several others I'd like to have. How would you like to have a new Ford GT in the barn for example. What a great car and so sweet looking.

Just what is the "typical Corvette guy"? Why does everyone have to be pigeon holed because they drive a particular car? Isn't there a such thing as car guys anymore. Maybe we should call you a Ferrari guy or even more specific a 328 guy or would you rather align yourself with the 512bb guys. That way all the 360 guys and 430 guys will know were your place is in the Ferrari pecking order and all the Corvette guys can bow down and kiss your butt.

A similar thing happened to me! I bought a Minivan with a super charged 426 Hemi engine (The Terminator) so that my wife could do groceries at Winn Dixie. I drove it one time and thought "what was I thinking?". I can't believe I did not go for the Camry!

If you are interested in a Terminator conversion....Check out TerminatorConversions.com. I would opt for the 426 Hemi.....its the only way to go.

This should be Thread of the month.....its awesome!

I am pretty much surprised how the "Little Fun Report" crosses sometimes lines of a normal discussions about how fast and how whatever the Z06 is compared to some Ferrari models.

So I will contribute to that tension less stressfull in pointing out that a test between a Corvette Z06, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Porsche 997 Turbo and the Ferrai F 430 will be in the next edition of Auto Bild Sportcars to be released from 15th of September on. I will post it to this thread.

    Regards

    Johnny

Composite glass with kevlar will still get stress cracks its a fact.

Not many excessive rattles thats great it gives alot of confidence to go 100mph in a car that has strange rattles

I agree that there are many great cars to be had and hopefully we can own at least one of each marque during our lives. MB AMG- Porsche-Ferrari-Lamborghini- Viper- Pagani- Maserati and the list goes on.
I think the Ford GT is another stunning car and have seen a few on the road, they look and sound pretty mean. They also respond well to mods and it seems like hitting the 650-700 hp bracket isn't too expensive. By the way I owned a Viper SRT-10 3 years ago, and I loved it!

    It's really not that complicated.....My mistake it was a C5 I raced.......
As for being angry?? Please don't take it so personal....I love car enthusiasts...!

I will dismiss your personal attacks and those of airbarton since both of you were making alot of assumptions. "penis envy" "my momma didn't love me" ETC.... :~)

The main reason for owning the car is for my personal driving enjoyment. Not to show off or make anyone feel lesser. I usually drive the car at night on open highways. Where there are few if any other cars or people around. I even drive my 1995 VW golf to work.

I guess reading my message with all those exclamations would raise some blood pressures. So I will appologize to those fellow car lovers of all types that were bothered by my chime.....

BTW I am not angry anymore because I just spoke to my momma and she said she still loves me!! :~)

Yeah what is a typical Corvette guy. I mean i've owned Ferraris. I am one of the faithfull as far as Ferrari is concerned. I watch F1 regularly so I can see the Ferraris run. I made the trip to Indy just to see them. Even my gym bag is a Ferrari bag. But I currently drive a Z06. So what does that make me. Maybe I just need to let my mullet grow out.

You missed the fact that the F430 and 997 were on track tires while the Z06 was on stock rubber. Big controversey over that, and R&T basically just shrugged their shoulders over it and said it was the way the cars were presented to them.

and for those of you getting off track in this thread (including myself), the original point was between his 914 and 348 beating the C6 Z06, it was not to ask your opinion on whether or not you like the C6 Z06 or how much you hate it, etc. simple point, even the ferrari side of the board has trolls, and indytech is one of them.

looks like indytech basically got owned anyways.

Since a few people are asking, I'll comment. Around my area, Corvette guys (I'm talking mainly C5-C6 drivers) are almost always white males between 50-70, gray hair, usually balding. There, I've said it. I'd venture to guess that over 95% of all Vette drivers I see fit this description.

Owners of older Vettes are even more homogeneous. The next time you see a '63 split-window roll up at the local ice cream joint, take a look at the owner to see if I'm right.

Well said, even when I had P-cars I admired Ferraris for the racing heritage that they hold. Endurance racing is one of the most difficult forms of racing. European auto makers designed their cars for this type of abuse. The rest of the worlds auto makers have benefited imensly from their inovations.

To detract from that is juvenile jealousy.

Nice try! You have a funny way of interepreting things don't you.
I think you should revisit some of your own posts before you throw statements like that around. The Mom comment was about the rediculous name. Do you live in the emerald city and hang out with the munchkins or something. I'm sure your mother didn't name you OZ.

Just pointing on how you nitpicked the post...& learn to spell ridiculous as it loses its effect.

Oz is a nickname that my some of my friends use. As you said said about interpreting things...I am sure you didn't believe that is a real name???

Not trying to nitpick the post at all. Just trying to point out that it was complete BS. Everything I said in response was true. He obviously has no idea what he is talking about. And BTW, it's pointing out not pointing on! what does my some of my friends mean? Yes I assumed OZ was not your real name. I think you missed the point.
