I do a lot for Maserati - but to hopp from EU over the ocean to the US to get a VIN seems to mee a very enthusiastic expectation (to say at least!!)! Ciao! Walter
Walter- You are exactly the kind of Super Enthusiast we hope will come to ItalianCarFest Weekend. If you can hop the Atlantic, I'll make sure you have a room at the Gaylord Texan Resort and we'll seat you at the head table with honored guest Tom Tjaarda. If you can't make it, check threads under the 'Texas' section and there are likely to be ample ICF 06 pictures soon. (The weekend is Sept 8-10). Stay in touch! -Jerry Lee Phillips italiancarfest.com
Jerry, OK, I will come - but only if you dig ol`Fangio out of his grave so that we can do an interview....! Ciao! Walter
When i was in Modena 2 weeks ago, I passed in front of the showroom of the Maserati factory and i noticed there was an MC12. I did not stopped because my girlfriend had enough of cars lol lol (we were coming back from the visit at the Pagani factory): 10 minutes after, on the Via Emilia, i saw another MC12, this time with test plates (the italian targa PROVA).
If i remember well, the initial price of the Maserati MC12 was 600.000,00 plus 20% italian V.A.T., which means a total price of 660.000,00. Value of the car is rising: there are only 50 MC12s... Or not?
CHRISTIES sold an MC12 -after sale!!- for Euro 506,300 incl. buyers premium. That means that its below its initial price. This weekend another MC12 was sold in Pebble Beach. Don`t know yet how much this car went for. Ciao! Walter
Why do you rubb-off the registration plate? It was a public place in Monaco where you took that pic. Ciao! Walter
BTW that car is a repainted MC12. And in BLUE. I have other pics (they're also on the register) at the same place, the same day, from different angles. First blue MC12 ever seen was Jean Todt's own car at the Carrozzeria Zanasi (plastic cover on headlights, polished rims and black glasses), then there was the other spotted at Loris Kessel Racing (car from Ticino, plastic cover on headlights) and then, this one (car from Geneva, no particular signs). So we have: 3 blue MC12s 2 black MC12s (one is Schumi's own car) 1 silver MC12 1 silver with red stripes MC12 (walter, have you convinced your friend to show us some pictures of it?) 1 black/orange MC12R from Edo Competition The remaining cars should be all in sperm white/blue.
And what about the car that was in darkblue with the bid Trident-logo painted in silver on it? This was at the official launch of the car. Ciao! Walter
