You guys are correct on Paul Tracy's house I think. Also, Floyd Maywheather also lives in that neighborhood. I work about a mile or less from Paul Tracy's house, and get the pl,easure of washing his cars for him, and talking to him every once in a while. Its a great gig.
Nice...Any specs on Schmi's new house (acres, rooms, sq. footage, features)? How far is it from the city center of Gevena? Also, didn't he try to build a property in another part of the country first? I've read the the Swiss government is looking to push a new law that requires all foreigners to pay income tax on all income, as to the current sweetheart deal they get. Wonder that it will effect the rich foreigners.
Work Begins on Schumi's Mansion By Michele Lostia (Autosport Atlas) Formula One's seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher is building a new home worthy of his stardom. Having bought three years ago a lakefront 15-hectare (roughly the equivalent of 20 football fields) property in the town of Gland, Switzerland, works are finally under way in the construction of a 2,200 square metres, three-floors mansion for the German driver, his wife Corinna, and their children Gina Maria and Mick. German daily Bild reports that two hundred people are hard at work in the construction of the Schumacher family house, which covers 730 square metres of estate space, with another 400 square metres home for the guests. The mansion will include 24 rooms, including eight bedrooms and five bathrooms; a 20 metres indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, hammam and sauna; a gym; a cinema with 30 seats; an underground garage big enough for 25 cars; a 63 square metres 'trophies' room; a 15 metres tall tower - the top of which will house the Ferrari driver's office; and a wall for free climbing. The construction work will cost an estimated 24 million EUR ($29m USD), on top of the 11m EUR already paid for the bare estate, which also includes a 200 metres-long strip of private beach next to the Geneva Lake. Schumacher told the German paper that the construction amounts to more than just a massive monetary burden. "It's an extraordinary pleasure to build such a home, but to be honest overlooking the works is very stressful," the Ferrari driver said. The lucky family won't be able to enjoy the comforts of the new mansion for a couple more years, though. "It won't be ready before summer 2007," added Schumacher.
Nice...Just wish it wasn't written in metric.. So it will take about two years to build? It amazes me how long such homes, in the 15,000 and up range, take to complete, in relation to much bigger projects.
Did the convo, hopefully its right: 23,600 square feet (mansion)-Does this include the garage? How many square feet would be needed to fit 25 cars, and to be able to move them around with ease? 1.8 acres (amount of property the mansion takes up) 37 acres (total acre-size of the property) 0.09 acres (total acre-size of the guest house) 21.8 yards (size of pool) 678 square feet (trophy room
Bill Gates built his home starting in 1990 one mile down the street from my parents' house (where I grew up. They built the house in 1969 before the Microsoft crew made it a desirable location.) Gates' place is really impressive because not only does it look huge from the water or Evergreen Pt. Bridge, but also because the majority of the house is actually underground and hidden from view.
I think Tracy goes back and forth quite often. I know he has both places in Vegas and Ft. Lauderdale, and keep all of his cars Florida registered.
I think was having a house built from the ground up, and it just got finished. I think a lot of ChampCar drivers live in South Florida.
This is the home on the most famous car collector here, usually got an Enzo, F50, 512, Pagani Zonda, Lambo Murcielago parked outside. Note the giant eagle statue as well Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oops, sorry wrong thread! I thought this was the thread about Ferrari Drivers homes. Sorry, ignore my posts then
"It's an extraordinary pleasure to build such a home, but to be honest overlooking the works is very stressful," Ok? Now I've never built a home before, but what exactly is so stressful about designing your own dream mansion? I'd give anything to have that problem.
It is very stressful. My parents have done it and it involves tons of meetings, picking out the smallest sh*t like doorknobs with a designer, things never coming in or getting done on time, failing inspections, etc.
