I am thinking of one of these as my next toy. I really like the looks of the 360 in general, but, as a performer, is there a big enough difference to merit the extra 50+K for the CS or G car versus the regular 360 coupe ?

the difference in numbers between a 360 and Cs may not be great...but the feel most likely is...the lost weight can be felt, the racecar noise can be heard etc....the gallardo is imo, just better than a stock 360. personally, assuming u mean an early gallardo, for what I like, which is intense road driving with plenty of curves...a CS would be it I think...

I like the 360. But I think you just a lot more bang for your buck with the Gallardo.

The 360 is a great car; I love mine to death. The CS is an amazing car in a lot of ways - above and beyond the 360. Here is my take on it. If you want a manual gear box, then get a 360 6 speed. But, if you were going to get a 360 with F1, then get a CS.

I happened to have owned all three of your choices. Imho the 360 is a great car but was to civilized. Not enough sound coupled with ok power. The cs was a great race car drive/experience. The sound was fantastic as well as the suttle body changes. I drove mine about 10000 miles in 9 months! I sold the cs and bough a gallardo se. This car is a cross between the first two. It has more power than the 360 with all of the daily convinences of a daily driver. I did the exhaust by pass and the sound is fantastic. Also the maintenace of the gallardo is significantly less than the ferrari. Bottom line I loved them all.

Personally, I couldn't see owning a CS for non track use. F1? Yuk. Manual cranking windows? Double yuk. I do love the looks of the CS though. Totally.
I may keep driving the wheels off of my 360, then convert it into a CS lookalike (with the 6-speed, of course).

Thanks for the comparo bro, and all other responses. I already have a 6.0 in the stable, which I will keep, so, I was thinking of adding a F car, just to mix it up. But, I must say, it is hard to go for a 360 over a Gallardo, especially since the G car is available in verde ithaca

I didn't give the CS serious consideration b/c my first Ferrari had to have a gated shifter, and b/c it will primarily be used on the street. Interesting though that some of the manual diehards appear to be digging the F1 box in the 430.

Like most things, will depend on what you really want the car for. I'd get a used G if you want power and convenience. you really cant go wrong with a CS, but that will be something that you may not want to drive as much as a G.

I only know the Gallardo from a passenger POV but the difference between the CS and the 360 is really significant.
The CS is the car I believe the the 360 should have been from the begining. I drive mine regularly and really don't understand the comments that it is not a street car. It is a little noisier than an insulated 360 but it functions very capably on the road. The lack of a full auto option may be an issue for some but not me.

It is a great track car for club track days but it is not a a dedicated race car by any means. It has been engineered to function on the road and does so very well.

From a looks POV the CS looks particularly mean. It has great lines and I think looks significantly more alluring than the boxy and creased edge Gallardo. My vote is for the CS.

    360 / 360cs = 360cs

    360cs / Gallardo = 360cs

    360cs / Gallardo SE = Tough Choice

Both cars are equally matched in performance. I love the rawness of the CS! It's a race car, but still has good styling. The SE after spending tons of time in it, I've grown to love it. Was never a fan of the Gallardo until the SE and Spyder. Good luck on your decision. Both cars are equally fun to drive and well worth to own.

From my personal experience, the CS all the way.
I didn't like the gallardo so much, it is like my audi on the inside, I hate that, the driving experience on the gallardo has nothing to do vs a CS.
I love how the CS drives.
the Gallardo is way more civilized.

Get the CS you won't regret.

    well $50k is $50k. If price is an issue..get a 360 and have fun..but if you can...get the C.S.

Before I got my CS, I was looking at a stunning black 2004 Gallardo. It was really pretty..and that alone almost sold me. But after driving it..well..it was kinda dull. It was fast enough...but kinda sterile.

2 test drives later..I got a CS and not regretted it at all

    CS, but I am biased.

Go for the CS if you want a full-on Ferrari race car for the street. Drive one, its pure magic.

Go for the Lambo if you want a V10 and that Lambo mistique.

Both are great cars but in a ways diffrent animals.

Some need to remember something about the CS, strada means road and stradale stands for street. The Ferrari meaning of CS means that is a Challenge car for the street and it is a very good "pista" car, but in no way Ferrari meant for this car to be compromised for track use only. Drive them all, but for me the choice by passion is 360CS followed by the Gallardo and then the 360. If scared of the CS brake costs and shy of the F1 shifter then buy the Gallardo and that would be my ultimate choice.

I must say that I am impressed with the good number of well thought responses I have received in this thread. Not one single," do a search" comment or the like. I usually spend my time here on L-chat, but I am impressed with your imput, you sound like a cool bunch. I think I need to drive a CS. Thanks again.

The 360 is a beautiful car, with a sexy engine sound and plenty of power. I personally rode in a CS around the Nordschleife, and it was honestly the greatest 8 minutes or so of my life. I read about the Gallardo alot, and its a great car, but Id say if you can afford it, and find one, the CS is the best car to get.
