Squamish Exotic Car Drive This Saturday morning will be our first of hopefully many casual drives. We will meet at a TBA location and drive up to Squamish for a quick bite to eat. We plan on meeting at 9:30AM on the West Side of Vancouver and departing for Squamish by 10am, everyone should be back by 2pm. Please bring your FRS Radios and contact me for more information. Looks like we will have at least 10 cars out.
You'll be bumping into the Italian Car Club of B.C. as that is our annual Whistler trip/weekend. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend...
Todd, I'm game. I'll phone you and discuss a meeting point as I live in Lions Bay. How about the Chevron station off the Upper Levels just before Caulfeild Shopping Center but I'm open to suggestions. A very good pub for lunch in Squamish is the Shady Tree Pub- good parking! Don.
Well, what a showing, here are just some of the pics, yes my car was towed away. Nice pics. And whatever happened to your car? I hope it's not something serious... Is that Shawsan's 360 CS? and 25th Anni Countach looks fantastic. I never knew there was one with dark red interior in town.
Thanks for putting the drive together Todd - a great selection of cars and drivers. Maybe next time we can actually make it to lunch? The West Vancouver Highway patrol were very hospitable, we had our own welcoming committee entering the Freeway and our own farewell honour guard at the exit of West Vancouver - such kind and gentle folks the Hwy 99 patrol commandeered Todd's flatbed - all sorts of excitement.
Hey Salar! Don joined us at the West Van fuelling point - and Todd was hogging both pumps, so I kicked him forward a notch. And he never seemed to make it back to the Eastern part of the station to take pictures of all of us there - probably another 8 cars or so. We had 3 TR's in total show up. We all know 348's can't keep up with TR's on the open highway, and Todd's camera didn't quite make it to the next photo opportunity, except to catch the tail-end of Shawsan's CS' audio demonstration.
Haha LOL, you 348 guys ate a little bit of dust? Looks like fun. Did you take your camera Tom? BTW, what colour were the TRs?
Is that a 348ss i see in these pics ? Is that a CDN car ? who and what todd ? what number of 100 is he ? details.
Yep that is a 348ss, in perfect condition, not sure about the number on it, only has 9000kms on it. what a ride!
Holy 348's! Serious show of cars. Those Pantera's are gorgeous and that Countach is just stunning! Surly there are more pics including the TR's??? Good job boys.
Yeap - lots of dust eating, and it was a little warm to be suntanning at a gravel pit on Hwy 99. The flatbed took just over an hour to putter its way over to us after he was stolen by the RCMP highway patrol. We could of walked to Squamish faster, being just next to the Chief. Lots of different reactions from the tourists: thumbs up, pictures taken, to loud laughter at the busted Ferrari. Todd's famous now No camera for me this time, I forgot it after loading in the GPS, the cellphone, and the FRS radios I just picked up. But lots of other folks took lots of pictures - Todd should be able to get some copies from the group, he's got the contact list. The bouncing blounde in Todd's picture 8 is likely the real focus point - I'm sure he's got her blown up lifesize to remember his first groupie The good news is Todd got to see what his toolkit is really for - to hold the tow hook, and the Ferrari screwdriver, specially designed to pry off the tow hook plug, never leave home without it! ha ha.... (been there, done that). The Countach sounded amazing, like so many of the cars yesterday. I think I was the only 348 with a stock exhaust - everyone else was Hyperflow/Tubi's, hmmmm... Didn't get a chance to hear the Pantera's under power, and not sure if we had 2 or 3 of them - kinda lost track. We picked up a Mondial through Vancouver but he dropped off in West Van. Hopefully he'll join in the next drive - he grabbed Todd's card. Also saw a Silver 360 on Georgia Street and a yellow 360s going the other way on the #1 - both unrelated to our group. Salary: I believe all 3 TR's were red on black (all red for sure). an '85, a '90, and Don's with shields. Didn't get a chance to talk to any of 'em really. You saw pic's of the '90 from the Newport Village show last week. I don't think I have any pics of the '85 - I know the previous owner before it was sold this spring. Red: I thought the ss was #9, but maybe I was thinking 9,000 k's. All the cars were very clean - I got to go cleaning again
