No kidding about variety! A RR, Lambo, SMART.. I don't think you can get on any opposite of the spectrum as those.. IMHO I think it's a great mix too.

In la only tourist look @ the phantom but the smart everyone does. People follow me in to stores, pull me over to ask about it and follow me for blocks to ask about the car. I just like diffent looking cars

I have the 1st batch that came to the US. Its not legal in CA but I had a 2 year deposit on it before I got it.
The problem is its 30k for the car which is not worth it but it looks real cool

    Here's a question I've had for a while...

Do you think modern Bentleys (Audi ownership) and Rolls (BMW ownership) will depreciate slower, faster, or the same as their previous makes?

i saw one at a display in a mall here in st. louis. 30 thousand gets you a two seater, no trunk, and correct me if i'm wrong, but don't you have to replace the battery something like every 100k miles?

I dont know about that. its a 20k car with an 8k US conversion. its VERY rommy on the inside. i took it to SF from LA and back. 2 people and bags. its a great car for the city for the AC sucks and the tranny is even worse. batterey is cheap so it who cares. like $50

Alright, while we got you rolls-bentley folks in one place, help me out here- saw a bentley coupe a few weeks ago on the commute home from Gotham. Not a new one, and it had very narrow C pillars, and a nice clean tail treatment. I would guess some kind of Mulliner bodyjob, but I'd don't know all the post war bentley variants (let alone the pre-war ones).
Any ideas as to what this was?

Sounds like one of the best ones. Look up a 99 continental coupe. I love that one! Last of the real B,s

Yep, just did a search. Continental R. Very sleek. I guess it was supposed to conjure up the 50's car- Cont. Fastback?
Looked great in motion. Aside from the rapper associations with the newer bentleys, they just look like huge lumps. Comfy ones, though. The service issues scare me. I wouldn't mind having one to tool around in, though.

Like Sk90077, my guess is you were looking at a 1999 Continental, possibly a Continental T.

    info here: http://www.rrab.com/bcontt.htm

The "T" is particularly nice. While it comes accross as a bit over the top in pictures, the machined aluminum dash is very nice in person.

I like it stock. its pretty smooth ride too and the 17's will ruin the ride a bit. its a flare rear and a few other goodies

There are a couple of Continental versions out there. R was the standard version. T was a short wheelbase model with a more powerful engine and then there was the ultra rare (79 made) SC - sedanca coupe. Basically a GTS version of the car.

All were available will Mulliner wide bodies if the buyer requested it (flared fenders).

That new coupe is so perfect... They should reconsider the reverse doors though, if reverse doors were helpful at all, somebody would have already done them.

I read that Phantoms were depreciating like 1500 per week.
