Well, I don`t know! There are kids who are living in that area around the `Ring - they drive with their slappy VW Golfs some Porsche drivers into the dust! There was a documentary in the German TV about the old `Ring. There was a kid of about 18-20 years who was sitting on his bed, covered his eyes with his hands and recalled EVERY section of the circuit from his mind including revs and gear-change with his car! Un-be-liev-able!!! There are kids who taking the ol`Ring "on side" when they driving back home from work - and this for years! I was once there in my Maserati which unfortunately had a small cut in its front spoiler. A young chap came up, pointed on that and mentioned very cool: "...cost you 2 seconds!" Geeeeee.............! Ciao! Walter
Check that the throttle bodies are opening and shutting properly. If one cant fully shut then the other bank of 5 will try to match it. (each bank runs on a differnt ECU). Dads G had this problem last year and one of the throttle body's would get stuck just a little open, it was replaced by warrenty. It sounds like we had the same symptoms as yours. Hope this helps! EDIT: just watched the vid, that car there definatly sounds like it has no problem, just him coming off the clutch out of a slow corner.
Yep! As far as I remember there was also a video of his ride! many sequences were filmed with the camera mounted outside the car next to the front right wheel and on the roof of the car! Roehl is magic!! Did you see on the famous Pikes-Peak-video in the Rallye AUDI what he did with his feet when he went up the hill?? Braking with left and right foot incl. double declutching!!! Jesus........ And when we mention HIM, do you know what Roehl did before he started his career as Rallye-driver many years ago? He was the driver of the catholic Kardinal of the city of Regensburg/Germany in a lousy Mercedes! Ciao! Walter
Fantastic video! Even with the G car being a bit down on power compared to the Vette and Porsche, he was able to stay right there with them. The car was great in the turns and unbelievable on the brakes. He was able to reel them in the braking zone. Not very easy to do to a Porsche race car. Darrell.
I was there that weekend with my Maserati-chaps at the "Small-Karussell"-section. Here you could see that when a car came out on this left-hander it went over this small banking and got their front-right- or rear-right-wheel lifted. When it had contact again almost every car became a bit "shaky" there. The Gallardo went thru it completly stable due to its 4WD. That was incredible to see! What this car and their drivers archieved in that event got the respect of many drivers I spoke to later!! Ciao! Walter

OK, but this is at the end of "Flugplatz" (Airport-) Section. The Gallardo we saw on the video made it there also by jumping out of suspension and getting back on the tarmac with a BANG-noise!!! Ciao! Walter
Flugplatz is before the Swedish Cross right? Do they run any time counter clockwise at the Ring? Heres a cool video (probably a repost) of DMOTORs Tim Schrick in a 997GT3 on the Nordschleife (car review 4:30). http://www.bmw-drivers-data.de/user/lutti/997GT3Nordschleife.wmv
No, not to my knowledge! Yes, Tim Schrick, a fearless young chap from Munich. Talks always while driving flat! Master of hifg speed drifts!!! He is very, very good - but I wonder why he never went racing! Ciao! Walter
Great vid but did you notice that the Gallardo did not out accelerate the M3 GTR in the beginning until it reached a corner?
