Dug in to check out the flaky drivers door jam switch only to find two switches. Also discovered someone had attached the wire formerly on one switch paralleling the other switch. If Ferrari used 2 separate switches there must be a reason.

OK...one wire when grounded, works the dome & marker lights. What is the function of the other switch? Apparently cars normally have 3 switches as TRutlands eBay store offers a 3 pack of 308 door jam switches for $70.

The 308 switches TRutland offers are not snap in as are mine but offset hole screw mount. Anyone know a local source like VW or BMW or ?? American cars use much cheaper but larger diameter switch and although I'm not a concourser I don't like changes which require drilling large holes.

See the electrical schematic in your OM -- the second switch is for the buzzer that sounds if you leave the key in the ignition and open the door.

Check the 308/328 Parts thread for details on pin type switches. They are used on some 911's. Pelican Parts and Stoddart are two sources, approx $15USD each or less.

there was also a thread within the last year citing the porsche 356 door switches as identicle replacements. I bought 3 at $12 each from the link in the thread

Funny, I felt the same way when someone mentioned the power locks on the 328 :D

Mine has a buzzer and once I reconnected it I knew why it was disconnected.

    Hi
Sorry, yes the style he needs is from 356. I always think that only GT4's are real 308's so suggested the 911 pin type switch instead :)
Either way Pelican and Stoddart both stock the switches at a non-Ferrari price.
