Alarm: Capacity on a 456GT cooling system

    My idle heating problems continue... I started doing a thorough flush on the cooling system on my 1995 GT, flushing the system, replacing the fluids, etc. To my dismay, the system charges with one and a half (1 1/2) gallons of liquid. Is this possible? What's wrong with my car? Help!

    It holds a lot more than that.

    The 456 and 550 have very efficient radiators so they do not hold a lot of water. However the entire system does.

    A quick look at the capacities page in the owners manual will tell you how much.
