Ok before I get flamed I did a search and found some answers, but not quite what I was looking for. My question is do you guys think the 360 will take the same path as the 355 in terms of pricing. Do you think a 10 year old 360 spider in 2011 is going to be the same price as a 1996 355 spider today. I was curious because at dinner tonight I asked a family friend who has had both the 360 and the 355. He thought this wouldn't happen becuase of how much "easier" it was to own a 360. I just wanted your input on what you think the 360 modena is going to be worth in say 2009 or 2010. I wonder because with the 430 coming out in masses now, and a supposed new model 3 or 4 years I can't see a 2001 360 spider for 165K as a good investment.

You can already buy reletively low milage '99 coupes for $102K-$105K. 360's have been produced in such stagering numbers that most will depreciate like rocks...making this a performance car bargain as the latest bling causes the poseurs to go after the next toy. Good for all the 'drivers' out there.

I don't know where you are getting the $105K price but check the Ferrari Market letter, Auto Trader, Cars.com and you won't find anything with low miles i.e.<10K for less than $120K and often more than that

I see that the "location" on your information box says "3rd rock from the sun". Is that where you find these low mileage '99 Modenas for $102K? Cuz, I sure don't see them around here.

I was completely shocked when I found out a co-worker bought a 1999 360 coupe w/36k miles for $96k (not salvaged). I guess that is considered high miles though. He said the guy needed $ fast and he was johnny on the spot! Wish it were me!

if the car needed major service among other hight ticket items such as clutch, brakes....you can easily add another 10k to 15k to the price tag. otherwise, you are right. at that price, johnny did steal it from him on the spot (even with the high milage)

still nobody has answered the question of when the 360 coupe will be in 355 range of 65K berlinetta or 85k for the 355 spider. When can we expect to see an 85K 2001 360 spider?

There were 2 on ebay last week with 'buy it now' for 105 and 102. They had around +-10K miles...books, tools, records, etc....both were '99s

I don't get why it "wouldn't happen". I mean you can get a fairly well sorted out 1995 355 spider for 75K or maybe less. Why is it so far fetched that the 36p spider be in the same price range one day. I mean its not some car where only 100-200 a produced a year. It isn't a classic by any stretch. 400 hp, hell plenty of cars today have that. A new S550 has almost that much power. I know its still a ferrari and a mystical machine, but the 360 spider isn't a collector car. I can see them being 90k in 4 years maybe 5

there are none now, but there are very occasionally cars in that range, all with stories, i.e. Euros, salvaged, etc

I think that we will see the 308/328 models eventually pass 355 in terms of value. Seems like the baby boom generation grew up on seeing these and say to themselves "that's what a Ferrari looks like". Despite performance figures, I think getting a clean 308/328 will be in the $60-80K range in 5 years or less. Keep in mind it will be a 30 year old car (with great looks!)...

While production numbers for 360's were high, people are driving them with much more freedom than they drove prior Ferrari's due to better reliability. Mileage will always affect price with higher volume production cars.

I can't see the 308 ever selling for more than the 355. They were both produced in large quantities but the 355 is a modern car that hands down drives way better and is much more reliable than the 308. I had a very clean example of both. The 308 was one problem after another while the 355 required only gas and oil change. Say nothing of the ridiculous performance advantage of the 355 along with the handling and exotic F1 sounds. Anyone who would pay more for a 308 is a misguided fool.

I'd like to see the link to those cars. With only 10K miles, there must be a story associated with those cars (i.e. accident, or euro)

What were the production numbers for 355's and 360's? There were around 12,000 308 GTB/S produced from 1976 to 1985. Price always boils down to supply and demand. I'm clearly biased since I own a 308 but I believe it is more readily identifiable as a Ferrari to the masses. Clearly the newer cars have significant performance advantages but IMHO, the 308 GTS is an iconic sports car of epic proportions. I truly feel it is an important classic Ferrari.

If I were to get a newer Ferrari though, I'd probably go for the 355 since it is more afforable than the 360, seems to bridge the generation gap between the 308's and 360/430's pretty well with a mixture of the classic and the future, and I also find it a more beautiful car.

I view the 360 as a fad car. There was something missing as to being a Ferrari, it wasn't quite as enjoyable as the 355...they made plenty of them and I only see the prices coming down.

If the 355 is viewed as more a beautiful car, after the "newness" wears off of the 360, I suspect the demand will be higer for the 355.

The newness has worn off the 360 but it is becoming known as the new 328 for its reliability and more reasonable maint. costs where the 355 is becoming more known every day for it's higher than usual operational costs.

Also, don't falme me, but I believe that the 360 is the most beautifully designed Ferrari of all time. The lines are timeless. Most will disagree, but the 360 is a car that will always stand the test of time.

To help put some facts on the table here, I am seeing 355's selling for very close to 360 prices in my jurisdiction.

    example:

    1998 F355B $159,900
    2001 360 coupe $164,900

Dunno fellas, but the demand for the 355's in western Canada seems to be heating up. Don't tell me that the 355 won't sell at these prices, cuz I've seen it! Just my $0.02
