I find this an almost impossible question to answer.

There are lots of great films, I can't even pick a 'shortlist' less than several dozen.

I guess there are two catagories really.

The first would be movies that are great because they are masterpieces of filmmaking, and almost universally acclaimed.

Then you have the other catagory of films you love because they interest you in particular or they're just good fun to watch.

animal house is a great movie, and a little bit of trivia: originally the producers and directors wanted to film at the university of missouri, and for one of the two main fraternity houses they chose my house, delta sigma phi. it's kind of cool knowing that my fraternity is now part of "movie lore." but then again, not really

    A few of my favorites
    Matrix
Few Good Men (There has NEVER been a better dialogue exchange than Tom and Jack since)
Snatch (It was right behind you. When you go in reverse things come from behind)
    Cruel Intentions
    Rounders
    Mean Girls

There is only one movie I think has acheived movie perfection and that movie is Toy Story 2.
