I figured this forum would be as good a place as any for this questions.

Has anyone ever dealt with rebuilding one of these cars from a heavy hit?
Car only has 10,000km. I've had other high end cars rebuild, but I've never dealt with an F car before. Frame work doesn't scare me as much as the price of OEM parts. Is it even possible to source front clips for these cars?

This could never be economically feasible to fix. I would guess that you are looking at something like $30,000 in parts, plus frame work, plus labor. And when you were done, you would have a car worth about 50% of what you had put into it. I'd call this a parts car.

    Yes, not worth it.

But the rest of the car looks to be in good condition.

Ferrari parts cost so much you could make a bit.

    wheels 1200
    targa top 800
    door grill 1200(pair)
    dash 600
    seats 400(pair)
    rear lid 800
    rear bumber 800

just to name a few of what I have seen going for sale.

    $0.

Rebuilding will cost more than a new one that simply requires a 30K

I would agree, parts car. The front is a unibody tub. I would guess based on damage that not worth anything back to rear subframe from a structural stand point.

I'd have to think that the owner could make a substantial amount of money parting this car out. Correct? Worth it?

    Isn't worth much,

It depents on the damage to the rear. Could you let see some pictures from behind, it seem to me that the rear wheel isn't standing well.

Is the car in the USA/Europe/Asia/... ?

    Best Regards,

Must have some major rear end damage as well. The exhaust shield and rear light cover are in front of the car in the top pic.

I've repaired a few but that one is only fit for breaking.

To answer the main question, in the UK I would expect £4.5-6K

Looks like a pole hit the car. How fast do you think THAT impact was? I REALLY rear getting hit in my 348 (and feared the same in my old 308). How fast of a front-end collision do you think you could walk from in a 308-348-355?

A couple hours with a hammer, a can of Bondo, and a little paint and polish...It will be good as new!

    Thanks for all the replies...

Labour wise, it would be no problem to get it fix. Maybe 80-120hrs plus paint. But the astronomical price of OEM parts and no real aftermarket availability means it's pretty much only good for parting out. You guys came to the same conclusion I figured, I just wanted to make sure.

Based on being a 'parts only' car, the owner is asking too much for it (over $15K).

If it were under $10K, I'd seriously consider using it for the drivetrain on a kitcar/tubeframe roadster project.

This car came and went. Somebody must have thought it to be a good deal for parts!

Just as a reference, are there any good used parts sources for the 348?

Surely there must be some shops specializing in wrecking these types of cars...

Funny language English - its mainly the owners who wreck them but the shops that rebuild them but I do accept that some shops are less competent than others !

Specialized Italian Recycling is a good source. Ferrari Parts Exchange, Italian Design all carry some used/salvaged parts. I think they are all sponsors. Check out the sponsors section at the top
