Well, I don`t like the word "propably" in your reply. But I agree with you totally that it`s not necessary to pull a gun on the head of anybody for this kind of relativly stupid behavior like of the "LaLa-singer"! I never understood why US-cops always take away people in handcuffs for such reasons - doesn`t matter how stupid they are! Ciao! Walter
You would think the cops would have at least had the common courtesy to lean him up against their crappy car!LOL He was driving the car like it was meant to be driven, and got caught. With no id, registration, or paperwork, they need to figure out whats going on. Add to the situation the crowd, and things could get out of hand quickly, so he got a ride downtown. The price of fame, and I dont think it outweighs the benefits. Doesnt he have people(or at least the ones who sold him the car) to make sure the thing is plated and insured?
if he has the dealers PR shield where the plate goes then was the car on loan or test drive from the dealer ? If so it would be the dealers duty to give him plates & Ins What dealer lends a car to some1 w an expired license ?
Not a big fan of his music but he has good taste in cars at least I heard he was up at the FCA Hartford Concours in 04 asking about Ferraris
I've seen photos of this incident as well as the video. The car had Unique Autosports plates on the back. Maybe I missed it but I didn't see any guns reached for or drawn in this incident. Borrowed from the off topic thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The video isn't working for me (FireFox). I see some of you are saying he had no "license." Did they say drivers license or license plate? I ask because the picture above shows he has no license plate. It's a Unique Autosport ad.
No wonder - the Master-musician is not there anymore! Bet my 49 Cents....! But the car looks veeeeery cool! Ciao! Walter
william u have got to be kidding??? cop goons? facists get fired? wtf would u expect them to do? not stop him? let him off with warnings? no regular person would be allowed to drive a car with no plates, registration or insurance and not get stopped. why should he? ur police bashing is joke. from the video they acted professionally and did not appear out of line at all. in fact 50 seemed pretty cool about it too. with all the rapper shootings over the years you think they should let their guard down down because it 50 cent. you think they know him just because they recognize his face?
I believe that they said that no plate (Unique plate on car), no proof of insurance and expired drivers license.
Had to be a PR stunt: 1. 50 was driving by himself.....in NY. 2. Got stopped and the trailer he got the car from was spotted a short distance away. 3. Un-marked car got him....probaly was making sure no one messed with the operation during the act.
With those facts, I'm starting to believe the car was just delivered to him by Unique after that paint job. It makes sense since Unique has the owner drive the car off by themself. Maybe they were filming for the show when this happened? I've seen Tracy McGrady drive in his silver Murcie when he was in Orlando with no license plates. It only had the "Platinum" dealership plate on the back.
The above is not a crime, and is sometimes very justified. You guys are being pretty hard on the guy for making an illegal lane chagne. I have done that before. I'm willing to bet most people have. I say don't hate the player, hate the game.
i won't lie, i've probably done it in the past. however, i think cops might be on the lookout for f-cars and lambos though. the one thing that gets me about this case is that the cops were plain clothes cops and in an unmarked car. i don't know much about police tactics, but aren't most traffic violations taken care of by cars with uniformed cops?
I love the fact 50 leads a lifestyle and has things these jerks will never, ever have. I wonder what was going on in the minds of the cops when they saw a black man driving a Lamborghini roadster. You should have done a little better in high school coppers. I got pulled over in my Porsche for an illegal lane change once and the guy was a complete jerk. I hope 50 said something along those lines to the officers. Having a badge and a gun does not mean you automatically deserve any respect. The same goes for any occupation. There are dirtbags in the Army fighing in Iraq, dirty cops, bad doctors, bad lawyers etc. In the end, this is just a small inconvenience for 50, and I hope get even more money just to get under the skin of people like this. I don't even really like is music, but I like the story of how he made his fortune.
You missed it, one video (there are 2 that i have seen) filming from the passenger side shows one of the 3 cops (the one positioned on the passenger door handle, reaching for, unstrapping, and finger over trigger hole, while slowly pulling on it.
I don't think this would have happened had it been a white guy driving a lesser car. When you make 36k a year, seeing that will drive you crazy. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That statement is clueless. If they really stopped him because they were so upset by his "lane change", these NON-TRAFFIC cops could have approached him and maybe ticketed him for the infraction and warned him for the other items after checking to make sure his car was not stolen. When I bought my car a few states from my home, I had no plates, no insurance and no registration. The guy I was buying it from was reluctant to let me leave with his official items. I called that states state police. A nice guy of an officer said it would be okay under the circumstances to drive w/o those items if I had a bill of sale, (but his words) if a PRICK stopped me I could have a difficult time. I agree completely with CSchienerUF.
