Best Number Plates

I'm thinking of getting vanity plates for my first F-car an '88.5 328 GTS that I just bought this week...Can't wait to pick it up next week!!!

Does anybody know how you go about applying for vanity plates in New Jersey? I've never had vanity plates before, so I don't have a clue how to go about it!

No obvious way to check online whether a combo is taken.
(Where's all that casino money go? ... Yes, I know: horse's heads are pricy lately. )

when i used to live in england there was a pub landlord with a black Sl55 with the plate reading 'V8 O HEL' which I found rather amusing.
