I think that we should all bow our heads in memory and respect of those that lost their lives in the attacks of September 11th.

Today was the first day in years that I have knelt down to take the time to pray. My heart goes out to all of the families and friends who lost a loved one. Last year my school lost a student by means of a drunk driver going 90 through his redlight and into Marcus in the crosswalk. Another person who will never have a chance at his dreams, and a person I was never able to really know. Before today I thought wow, this is horrible, but I thought nothing more of it. Not for the families, not for the friends. Events that have taken place in my life in the past couple years have truly shaped me, and I can now see the light that has descended around me. I was ten when it happened, and I felt nearly nothing. Here I am, five years later, and I am flooded with feelings. All of us have been touched, and hurt by the events that happened five years ago today. May we all be fortunate enough to at least say good bye before we are gone. I know that is all I asked God for when I knelt down tonight.
