My thread that I started at http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120776 was closed today. I tried to email Rob, but the email address I had for him got bounced back and I could not find Rob Lay in the member list!

I posted my company's temp guns for sale at a price that's about $1.50 above my cost at $14.95 each. This is an EXTREMELY helpful tool for mechanics (And has dozens of other uses around the house!).

So here I am trying to do something nice for FChatter's and a Mod closes my thread. First off, I'm not making a ton of money on these units. I'm even including a botle of my company's Super Glue that has a $7.95 value! It's NO difference that BRUCE pitching his batteries on this forum. Secondly, to process the orders, I have to walk down 32 steps on crutches to my home-office warehouse to package the orders and that's no fun! I rather stay in bed!

    Just venting :)

Feelin' better? Sounds like you put the feisty mood back in play here on Fchat.

Oh, and I ordered two!! Great deal.

I guess the Mod figured they didn't need a lot of comments on the thread, rather than shut it down and delete it, if they close it, it'll disappear from the board within a day or so.

OF course, we could continue to post threads pointing to it. :D

Maybe you just aren't appreciated over here all that much, eh??

How is that wheel, anyway? Healing I hope.

I agree... it should probably remain open. We let bric-a-brac-jack keep his threads open because there was a general consensus that he had a good product at a good price, and didn't materially infringe on anything the sponsors were doing.

(BTW, I bought one too! I'm going to measure Luca's diaper...)

I'm not buying one but I think the thread should be open. For christ sakes we have a thread going about chewing gum removal. This place is often very absurd.

So, what I'm reading is that someone's hard-on for PeterS is preventing a bunch of F-Chatters from getting a great product at a reasonable price.

I dunno but doesn't something like that add value to an online community?

Rob has a new email, it was in a sticky somewhere or something.....

I have a thermographic camera, I can scan the whole tire! LOL!

Good price, good equipment ....for safety's sake!

I have been looking for something like this for a long time. This tool looks great and I would be happy to buy two of them right now. When my car mates see it more orders will come.

    BUT...

THE SELLER WILL NOT SHIP OUT OF THE U.S.

We are in 2006! Come on!

We don't trust those primitive Uropean furrrrreign postal services, do we? They probably carry mail in horsecarts!

The seller of this item is not trying to do something nice for Fchatters, as he writes. He is trying to do something nice for Fchatters who live in the US.

i think Peters thread should have been left open as well. there is a difference between spamming the board with crap , and providing a welcome service to the community. i think the temp guns are great.

i do need to get one..... i dont do ebay or paypal though....

I think it should be left open too, infact, anything sold by anyone on this board should be allowed to be advertised.
We all need good deals on Toaster ovens, Ipods, furniture, Boob Jobs, hair replacment, dental plans etc.....

It's not that I don't want to ship outside the US, it's just difficult. I'm coming off a serious heel fracture and I'm on crutches. To avoid a $36 UPS Worldwide Express shipment that gets picked up at my home office everyday, I have to go to the post office, stand in line and fill out a form at the counter for an out of country shipment. On crutches in a busy post office is not much fun! I'm hopeful you understand that.

Peter has been VERY active on the Business section where he has offered his time and wealth of experience to anyone who asks, regardless of location. Not once has he (in my recollection) ever refused to help anyone, provide advice, or withold assistance. Nor has he ever spammed that section....

There may be very good reasons why he is unable or unwilling to ship outside the US - why not ask him? (Peter. Is there a good reason??) If there is a problem that is not easily overcome, I would be more than happy to purchase these on your behalf and either post them to you or send them to Austria with a friend who can then post them from within the EU (I wonder if there are complications with duty which is why shipping outside the US is an issue). I am sure that there are other F chatters in the US that would also be happy to help. Rather than flame Peter, perhaps just ask :)
