Does anyone have one on order?
Or do you know when the exact release date is?
I called the dealer and they have not called me back.
It is an 07 model yr so it should be available NOW! :D

    Thanks for the "heads up"...

Been thinking about getting one as well.

Any news about model year changes / options / etc. over the current "S" model? Heard that the newer Coopers were going to increase in size slightly. Wonder if this will apply to the "S" models also (?).

I owned an 02 "S" and loved it!
This one is apparently a bit larger (I think) and is Turbocharged as opposed to Supercharged. I loved the SC model, now let's see what the Turbo is all about :D
Also has some sort of Automatic tranny now. Don't know if I want that, the wife will drive it then!
I read somewhere that it is (supposedly) getting 40mpg on the hwy.
I will test that number ;) I will be the mythbuster on this :)
    Then somewhere else said 30mpg.

I wonder what kind of power the JCW kit will make and what kind of power gains the tuner crowd will make.

I was rear ended by one going 60 mph. Demolished my wife' car, the front of the Mini collapsed as it was supposed to with only $7000 in damage. No damage beyond cowl, even though it was in my back seat.

I ended up with 3 herniations in my neck, two in my back. I was impressed by the Mini in a frontal accident, still would not want to be in one if it was rear ended.

Did you have an 01 non "S" model?
I heard those had tons of minor "PITA" problems.
Rattle in the trunk, seat adjustors snapping, bunch of stupid things going wrong. I am sure they have that all sorted out by now

Actually production started about 2 weeks ago - it was all over the news in the UK. Not sure if tha's just for RHD cars though, with the last new Mini (all this new new Mini stuff is going to get confusing isn't it?) they made RHD cars only for the first few months, then started LHD.
