Agreed, but maybe not that far off considering the front spoiler repair and seats. If services are current it could be a deal. I'm leary of the year for valves and it seems they were never replaced. It's ur gamble to take the car with old style soft valve guides. They didn't say anything about the exhaust headers either. So who can say? A PPI is definitely in the game plan.

Way too cheap. I smell something! Why sell a car at least $10-15K below the market?

Not trying to "diss" the car, but the drivers door doesnt appear to line up correctly, you can see it more pronounced on the picture taken from the rear drivers side.

Passenger side looks close, but a slight bit off.

Advertiser says "no paint work" on the Q&A, but maybe prior to his/her owner]ship?

Further pictures so dash shrinkage on the passenger side (by airbags? possibly replaced?) and bolster wear, and very dirty carpets. Looks like it wasnt taken care of as well, definately a driver.

Besides noted issues, it looks to be a steal unless its got major manifold or valve guide issues.

Someone else posted a really good overview of the valve problem on the F355. I really recommend you read it. Although the valve problem is bad if it happens it doesnt affect all cars and seems more likely to happen early in the cars life rather than later. Still get the PPI done and check those numbers they will give a good indication of what is going on in the engine.

Also go to the355.com and read the buyers guide. A lot of nice pointers there. The car looks pretty good to me, but thats the problem with pictures you can never tell.

Good find! The door is about 1/2" off and the front spoiler can be refinished with glasurit for around $1500-$1800. The leather looks very neglected too:(, that can get pricey for a factory quality repair.

It does seem to be very inexpensive. I think the biggest issues will be the valve guides, cats and possibly even the manifolds. But at that price, it seems as though that expense has been factored in.

one can easily put $12k to $15k into this car to make it right....in the end, the new owner will end up owning a 97 355 spider with 30,000 miles/ some story for around $80k.

for another +$10k (low $90), one can own a 99 red/tan/low miles/no story....., this is a much better deal in my book.

I know the car. It's in MA and I went to see and drive the car. Didn't sound right to me, but I'm not technical anyway. There are a few issues on the car (dash needs replacing, broken door handle, cracked front bumper). There was some issue on the mileage and title, and more importanty, no service records at all! I lowballed him at 60k but he did not accept it. He told me he was going to sell it an auction.

I walked away and did not even do a PPI. Buyer beware.

I wouldn't want that car at that price. There is a much much nicer 355 spider in ferrariads for $75K, with 23K miles. (I have no affiliation with the seller by the way) If the guy with the 23K mile car was in jersey or even east cost I'd consider, although even 23K miles are higher than I want...that and I'm about 6 months ahead of myself before looking...
