After a drive with engine off, I hear what sounds like a cow Mooooo'ing in the distance! It's coming from the left side of the engine bay and lasts about 3-4 seconds every 20-25 seconds for about three minutes!

My thinking is that this sound is either from oil settling or a common noise around a fuel line. It's just an interesting sound that I can't figure out! Any thoughts?

    LOL.

Check your gas cap, and the lines up under the the fender well going to the filler neck. Also have a look at the connections on the charcoal canister, left hand side of the engine bay.

Next time you hear it, try cracking open the gas cap, to release the pressure, and see if that gets rid of the cow.

It's your fuel tank's pressure relief valve. Normal. It can easily be set off by slamming your left-side door after a hot drive.

You can test to confirm the above by making a hot run, then setting the parking brake while engine/tranny is running in Neutral, and opening your gas cap. Then shut off the engine. You probably won't hear the 348 "Mooooosic" with the gas cap open, even if you slam a door at that point.

What's the 'beef' with this sound? Does it make it when you 'filet' up? Perhaps a 'ground' problem. I would say 'chuck' the fat in the system, and look for other cars before your 'hide' gets 'T-boned' while you are getting 'ribbed' by a passenger. Have you checked behind the grill? Make sure your water is not 'broiling' over. Sounds like a heffer of a problem, but I would steak my reputation that you will find it.
