On the Bi turbo 03+ S600 with the AMG package (wheels and skirts its 155mph 100% on this) also "The acceleration seems just shy of g-sled, cheek-flapping strong and is sufficient to whoosh the S600 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, to 100 in 9.7, and through the quarter in 12.5 at 115 mph. That’s neck and neck with a slightly racier 12-banger—the Ferrari 575M Maranello —and the Benz wins the drag race by a 10th! And that peak performance is gained by simply flooring the accelerator. No brake-torque or wheelspinning histrionics required." Car and Driver

hate to be "that idiot" but...ehh

996TT with 6spd. 3.9 0-60, 12.2-12.4 quarter mile...not too worried..and im not concerned that the porsche would win against a 575 at the strip...

Ok fine. I bet the Porsche or Ferrari are more fun to drive though. I'd still like to see said Benz in it's boheemouth pimpdom.

LOL I wasn't even trying to start a debate just figured I would throw another car in the mix. I was already that idiot when I brought the S600 into the conversation now if an S65 was in the picture maybe things would be diff 604hp and 738 lb torque? :)

The 575 would walk. There have been several videos which prove this. 575 / 550 both take a 996tt from a roll.

IMHO the 575 would be quicker....F1 giving a significant advantage, quicker gearchanges.....than an unskilled Porsche driver.....

Most 996TT's can edge mid 190's pretty easily. The best thing about them is that you can pull yet another 100hp for just a few thousand. Both cars are incredible though.
