    Hi

    does anyone have photos of the side lights that were used to light up the cars numbers on the doors or rear hood ?

    need to figure out the correct ones for 1952 or 53 LeMans

    also any idea who made them ? Marchal ?

    IIRC I didn't think the first number lights appeared until 1954. Is there any particular car that you are looking for?

    its a friends Porsche that ran Lemans ,

    there were number lights then , but the photos are too fuzzy to figure out what they were

    any pictures of the 54-55 ones ?

    whatever you have ,

    I think they were added at the race , not required in German races at the time , I am not even sure if they had night races in Germany them !

    I'll go through my photos from Rennsport Reunion and see if any of the early Porsches have the lights, stay tuned.

    Hi

    not just Porsches ,

    anything early 50s ,

    I think these were a French thing for that race ,
    good idea when you come to think of it , but I bet the wiring was makeshift ,
    and the holes drilled with what they had at the time.....
