You don't have to register a car when its actually made... or if the original dealer hadn't sold it. So you can postpone the date of registration and voila... 06 plate'd car

but the VIN would still say its a 03 car tho, and doesn't the Registration go by the VIN Database system rather than its first registed date?

In the UK, I believe if a car hasn't been used, then you can register the car later - IIRC many Jag XJ220s ended up like this as loads were left unsold after the recession hit. However, when a car has been used, it is illegal to put a newer plate on an older car (and as this is an 06 plate, it must have been registered between March 1st 06 and August 31 06). I'm not sure what applies when the car has been imported into the UK as used - I seem to remember when I was in primary school a girl moved in from NZ and they registered their used car on the latest plates, although that was about 20 years ago, so my memory is hazy. Is the car RHD or LHD - IIRC there was only one official RHD UK SE40, therefore I wonder if this is an import/used in spain LHD on UK plates (as I believe many people who have houses in Malaga do as this saves on taxes) or something similar...

One last question - is it actually an SE40? Could it be a respray/paintjob/special order?
