It doesn't matter whose car it is. Erik has had enough time driving the car to give his opinion. You have had enough time driving the QP to give your opinion. Just because he did not buy it or it isn't his doesn't mean he can't share his views. And I am sure that he has had some time in a QP to formulate some type of opinion.

what? so the design og the QP is better? sorry but based on that comment your IMO doesn't really mean much. the current crop of MErcs have got to be the most bland cars on the market. fast 0 - 100, sorry, who cares.

mmm, i'm really pleased for your dad. now get back to class. *sigh*

what is this picture supposed to mean? you were drooling over this while you are undecisive about the QP or the M5 for that 14 months?

so we now know that you like the QP because you like buick?

if i remember correctly you were quite fond of the QP's styling.

btw parker, learn how to properly quote.

    the money?

    just kidding.

the S500 is a very very large sedan. not much fun driving in one of those compare to the QP. S500 are better left for chauffeurs.

For starters I am 21 years old on (Oct 15th actually!). Second I have driven more cars then probably most people on this site after working at a car dealership as a lot guy for a few years part time while I was in high school and college. In my collection is just one car a Mercedes CLK 430, but I pretty much drive every car my Dad/Mom own whenever I want these include (G500, S600, xlr-v, 355). Goober you pointed out you "don't need rear leg room go ask my dad what he says" That is exactly why he bought the S and was going to buy a QP. He wanted to have a sedan to round out the fleet. He has OTHER cars for when he doesn't need rear leg room and space for 4. I only posted in this thread to show how someone looking at a QP for months could decide to go another way Frank did it and so did my Dad. My Dad wanted a QP, and just couldn't pull the trigger because the car didn't meet all his needs. That is all, the thread might be about M5 and the QP but after reading "why isn't everyone in mitsu's and honda's" and a few other posts about OTHER cars I figured I would say why my Dad a REAL BUYER decided against the QP and what he picked and why. I never intended to start an argument, just give the reasons and why my dad didn't buy a QP. Let's face it there aren't to many people that test drive and post about QP's total on this site. So, I was hopefully given insight to someone about what the car is really like and how it compares to another one. Goober I think you are delusional about QP though my friend. Have you actually driven an S600 or an M5? Because if you still pick the QP you are either enjoy getting a fraction of the performance and quality for more money then the M5 or you bought the S600 because you couldn't pony up the big bucks? hmmm. Don't bother to answer those questions as I don't want to have a personal attack, but I don't know why you questioned my character or tried to say "abused child from a trailer park" Someone that is able to own a QP should learn to value others opinions whether they are in line with yours or not. A personal attack is the lowest form of response one can have. I expected more from you! Noah thanks for the kind words bud, but they really weren't necessary.

Not to be too critical but,
"lot driving" does not tell you much about performance or handling of a car.

When you are a lot guy you also do dealer trades and drive cars to the auction at Manheim which is about an hour and a half away. Not to mention you drive the cars to the gas station to put gas in them, and if a "hot" car was traded in my boss would always let me take it on lunch breaks ;). My dad has had some pretty sweet cars over the years as well I have been lucky enough to get behind the wheel of.

Well, the folks in the trailer parks you know of must make a lot more money than the ones around here to be able to buy a $95k M5...and from looking at the vulgar comments on your profile, you must be around 13 years old and live in a trailer park yourself...

if the person is leaning towards an oversized luxury sedan with a V12 + tons of torque (such as the S600), he really would not /shouldn't be looking into a V8 QP (or V10 M5) to begin with.

I agree with that...for me it was the QP or M5...nothing else had the power, handling and ability to seat 5 that I know of...

Voting age in the US is 18 smart ass which I already am. Drinking age I will be in about 2 weeks! I think being 21 and paying for my own Mercedes CLK isn't to shabby either. In all the time I have spent on f-chat I have met a ton of great people(both in person and on the forum), but this is one of those rare times a complete jerk is on the forum. If I would have praised the QP you never would have said anything and gone along with what I said. But, since I bashed the car you choose to try and discredit me by bringing age and the fact that it was my Dad and not me looking to by the car. I think you need to grow up! I have never once said anything insulting to you up until this point, but you don't quit. When car and driver tested the car they were with me in saying it looks great, but is it worth putting up with everything else for a unique look. I think not and so do many other people. That is why these cars are SITTING unsold at dealerships all over the US. Maybe things are different on what planet you are from? Also why do I need enough money to buy a collection? If I had 10 cars would you then not have a problem with me posting my opinion? There are many users of this forum who don't own a ferrari or exotic car yet share their opinions everyday. Would you like to ban them from posting? I have serious doubts that you are successful and well respected after reading your posts. If you have children I can't imagine you would tell them not to share their opinion on something they KNOW ABOUT? On another note I can't believe your wife likes the QP's transmission my mom wanted nothing to do with it, are you the wife in the relationship by any chance? Erik, you are 21, working in a car dealership, talking about daddys cars. Goober is...... well, over 21 with a collection of cars that would save you on viagra for many years. Like Scud said, you'll look back on this and realise that no matter what "experiences" you have now, life isnt one of them. you're a little out of your depth here.
