Trust me, I would if I could. If I lived in the US, I probably would. I could almost get 2x348's for the price of a 348 here in Aus. Not going to spend another AU$100K+ on a 348 here. I will get a 3x8 in the next couple of years. I love the classic shape. If I dont, then ill wait a few more years, get some money together and buy either a 360CS/F430 or maybe even a 599. Fcars here cost alot more than in the US due to import taxes and GST. On average........(give or take) 308-AU$70K 328-AU-85K 348-AU$110K 355-AU$170K 360-AU$260K 360CS-AU$400K 430-AU$400K Testarossa-AU$140K
Yikes! That's nuts. Here's what you do: you get me to take the engine/sub-frame out of a 348 or 355. I ship the 348 body minus sub-frame to you Down Under. Then I ship the sub-frame to you. You "re-build" your 348 or 355 and register your car as a homebuilt in Aussie. No taxes. Now you've got a 348 for $40k U.S. You sell it. Send half the profits back to me. And if you get pinched for tax fraud, you never heard of me!
Crap man... you guys got a brotherhood!! now I'm jealous. I owned a 348SS for 7 yrs, fine car but I can't see myself owning another, brotherhood or not... is that for moral support or what? Hahaha. Just yankin' your chain. Regards, Vern
I think you have mentioned this once before ND. The only prob is that US cars a LH drive. And knowing our luck mate, we would get caught!
Just dont come running to us when you need a shoulder to cry on when your 355 suffers electrical gremlins and they send you the bill.......
I won't............. maintaining a high performance exotic is part of the deal, but at least I live near Brian Crall!
