Hmmm, need to speak with the council and see if we can close a few roads... transport everyone up there... cover costs of insurance etc... marketing and promo... first aid and other officials... get Allan, Matt and co to *want* to go to Mt Isa... and find 26 exotics in Mt Isa to join day I'm good, but... ps: thanks for the heads up email
Everyone ive noticed in the 348/355 section all agree on the rear spacers being 25mm. Some guys put the 15mm in the front to make it look cool also. But the best combo is only having the rear 25mm apparently. Later 348's had the 'updated' suspension. After late 1992 I think by memory. They changed the rear stub axles. They are now 25mm wider. Hence the spacers not being needed. All 355's have the same 25mm wider track from new. So must be a good thing if they modified it to suit.
Hello bud. Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate it. Im nowhere near a track mate. So we can forget about that. But thanks for your advice. Not going to worry about the steering wheel spacer. Nice touch though. I may get some race seats(kind of like PP's). I like that idea. Did your 348CH have the corrected 25mm rear track? Or did you fit spacers? Or do you think that its all BS? Im only goin on by what everyone that has fitted them reckon. I still dont see how much better it can get? Thanks again mate. Cheers.
Um........yeah. *Cough* We can forget about trying to get them to want to come to this stinking hot hell hole.
Mine is a 12/93 build. Does that mean its 25mm wider than yours? It still wanders on uneven surfaces as per Ferrarifixer's observations/comments.
Considering its nearly hitting 40C temps here already, I decided to get the 348 A/C charged up earlier today. The A/C was nice and cool when I got the car last year,(but not very cold) and it had a new evaporator fitted back in 2002 going by the service history I have. The A/C started losing its cool around 5 months ago. We put the gauges on it today. Nearly all the gas had leaked out.....not good. There must be a leak somewhere. My A/C mate Graham, found a leaking schroder valve on the high pressure side. 2 second fix. We also didnt replace the receiver dryer as they didnt have one. Not because it has to be a genuine Ferrari receiver dryer, but because he was out of the universal one that he had there to suit the 348 A/C system. We replaced the schroder valve, vacced the system down for 45mins(gets all moisture out and allows more gas into system) then charged her up. The bad boy took nearly the whole 900grams of gas into the system that the spec book recommends. At 300psi head pressure, it still wanted more. We put the thermometer deep into the vent and got it down to 3C. At the mouth of the vent, its 6C. Ice cold. Love it, especially in this heat. Here are some pics. It was very hot out there in the sun. No room in the workshop unfortunatley. Its great having friends in the business. I got my dirty old magna A/C filled up 2 days ago, and the 348 sorted out today for $50. Cheap! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mate, im about 100% sure your 348 should have the 25mm mod. How does your rear wheels sit? Are they inline with the rear of the body? Mine, as you can from my 1000 or so pics on here, the wheels dont stick out inline with the body. My car does not track over the road like you just said your does? Even on these horrible roads here. My car is fantastic. I think I have a 'special' 348. Anyone wanna buy it for a highly inflated 348 price?
Vegas1, see the 2 pics. My car and the new SS old mate just bought in the Us, as you know. You can clearly see the difference in the rear wheel spacing. Thats the desired effect I will get with the 25mm rear spacers. And the handling to go with it....... Are your rears like the SS? That SS is a 93 model too. Thats about all the spacers do I reckon! (Until ive driven the car and can notice a difference.) Then again. They would probably only benefit the car on the track and being pushed to its maximum capabilties. Something I cant do.........but PP can. Just ask him.
wow, for a second there i thought you'd learnt how to take a photo... then i saw yours underneath it and realized you still suck
Spacers are illegal and even "dangerous" from what I've been told....I even started a thread about them a while back. I still use them though. nice hat.
