You might buy the Tamiya 1/12 F60 A.K.A the Enzo. I bought the Enzo from Tamiya from a site and payed $350.00 for it. If you are interested in it I can send you some pictures. It should arrive at my house this week, because I just bought it on Thursday of the last week.

Neil, are you holding back from the Tamiya as a result of the, well, what seemed to be early production QC issues?

I will post pics as soon as possible. Just got here and finished final assembly.
By final assembly you will need to :

Install hood (simply push it on)
Install trunk lid (uses VERY small screws)
Install bumper (front bumper only by pushing and then screwing on)
Install wheels (uses "life like lug nuts" and then you push on the ferrari covers over them) If you buy it and read the instructions provide it will be alot easier.

    Rick W.

P.S. What do you want pictures of? Wheels, Trunk lid, Interior, Etc?

    sorry fellas..

i have the tamiya 1/12 enzo....

just that i want the new kyosho one aswell as i have other 1/12 kyosho's (f40) and the are far superior to tamiya in my opinion...and they are metal not plastic!!

i have 1/12 tamiya f50 and that is metal...i cant understand why they held back on the flagship model and made it in plastic?????

I don't understand????....... Did you buy it??????

I know it's plastic, but the quality of the paint really makes up for the "lack" in feel.

The quality in paint? But it is plastic and looking at it, you can tell it is plastic as opposed to MOST others like the F50, Murcielago, CLK etc etc where they are metal and very shiny. Even the Carrera GT is the same although i didnt have such a problem with the build and pieces missing/falling off.

I just hope they pull there finger out..........

    regards,

    Matthew

I too, have a tamiya Enzo and i love it. I have to give my two cents but is the "REAL" Enzo made of metal? How bout the "REAL" F-40?? Nope.......
I think this is what tamiya was shooting for in the "plastic" feel of the Enzo, because carbon fiber feel is closer to a plastic feel then metal...... IMO

I know what you mean but judging by the responses of several buyers of the plastic models, it seems to have made them very wary of purchasing again due to quality control issues. Have these issues ever been present on a metal model as I'm not aware of any.

I hate the fact I've got a plastic model on the shelves and I cant bear to imagine if all CF cars were produced in plastic to imitate the CF feel. Its more like a kids toy as opposed to a collectors car. For the £££'s i spend i expect to have something that looks identical to the real thing, the touch to me is not important.

Just my opinion and I would hope Tamiya take it in as I grudge paying top dollar for toys.

Exactly what Ive said before! Aside from obvious durability, what makes a metal model better?

The panel precision on the Tamiya Enzo is outstanding, and it does not look like a cheesey "molded in color" finish. It is delicate, but then these are not toys to be rolled along the floor either. I own many 1:12th, including the Kyosho F40 and Tamiya F50 and I have no problem with my Tamiya Enzo whatsoever.

Truthfully, the preproduction pix of the Kyosho Enzo wheels did not look impressive to me.

Here are some detail photos of my 1:12th collection:

I suppose it is luck of the draw Greg. I have something like 11 or 12 1/12 scale models and never did i experience a problem with them until i received the plastic ones. As you and probably everyone else knows I needed three in the end and even the 3rd was fooked so i gave up. Then there was the Carrera GT. Anyway, I'm not going to go on about it but I'm sure Tamiya received many many complaints about the plastic versions as opposed to the metal versions.

Back on topic, I agree the Kyosho did not look as good as the Tamiya and those wheels were way off!

    Regards,

    Matthew

    Greg, I completely agree.......
By the way, That GTO you have is absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that a Revell car with wheels that you built yourself? Beautiful car!!!

thanks... that is the Revell GTO. I bought the wheels already assembled from Stephane who also visits f chat. I dont remember how much I paid, but it wasnt cheap. They are slightly out of scale... too big, but I dont mind, still a dramatic improvement over th stock plastic wires.

Did you notice I also had my F40's wheels chrome plated to look more realistic? More like the true polished aluminum finish... I just detailed the centers with silver paint.

Well I can confirm it certainly isnt the Tamiya 1:12, BUT are you sure it isnt the 1:18 BBR car photographed?
