Yes! to some it is. I have a buddy who from high school on painted all his cars yellow and it just wore thin on me, nontheless a beautiful car and the price is right.
I haven't gotten much response is the v12 market slow? I would think with the new 599's due out in January the 550/575 market will heat up. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe TDF blue on a Maranello would be an "on" color from the postings I've seen over the past few years.
The main stream colors for the 550 seem to be: Silver, Black, Titanium, NART, and TDF. It also depends on the interior color of the car as well. It is all really personal taste but the dealers seem to like these colors.
......and of course, red. Although popular, Titanium/blue cars sit longer than tit/blk. Tit/bordeaux is even worse. Rosso Fiorano and Yellow are second tier as well. G. Alloy, G. Ingrid, A. Calif, V. Mugello.....buy these right cause in most cases, it will take a year to sell them.
What is the opinion of the dark green on tan 550 that was for sale in Atlanta on ebay some time ago? horse fan
A beautiful car that one must be happy to be buried in..... There was a very nice green/black with seats and shelf for sale here for almost 3 years......
yellow is actually a popular color on the 550s in my area. There are I believe 5 of them within a 5 mile radius.
You know the old saw about green race cars. Perhaps a green Ferrari just doesn't fit the image. Popular shades seem to go through cycles but Ferrari seems to be a law onto it's self... I would still take the Yellow 375MM with the green interior! horse fan
I once saw a 456GTA in verde silverstone (a little lighter than BRG) over tan that was just killer. I used to think I would never own a green car that wasn't English, but if not for the slushbox that 456 would have found a new home on the spot. To me, the larger cars such as the 456, 550 and 612 look much better in darker (or at least less flashy) colors than they do in resale red or fly yellow. The stealth aspect is a plus, too, at least for me. The difference is that while red and yellow look OK on the 550 they look just plain weird on the 2+2s (imagine a Scag in yellow - teehee). On the other hand, in all candor I would take a 550 in Pepto Bismol Pink over Chartreuse if the price were right.
to me color on a car is in the eyes of the beholder. I have a rosso fiorano 550 and i think it is gorgeous. I love giallo colored Ferraris too...but I have never seen a 550 live in yellow.
As do I. I was told I ordered the first G. Ingrid 550 in NA back in 00 and A. Calif is absolutely stunning on a 550! Go figure. I guess it's called "Resale Red" for a reason???
