Ah okay, thanks. Since it looks like thin plastic, I figured the hinges might break off when opening and closing it.

So far the only bad luck I have with my 1/18 F1 cars was one being shipped from Germany. Front wing broke off and left front suspension. Insurance has been filed so we'll see how that comes along. It was a Ralf Schumacher BMW Williams. He has bad luck everywhere he goes. ;)

They just tried to make it more authentic. :)

My entire tower with the F1 collection collapsed twice. That's why the cars look like they had been in a start schlamassel. :)

    LOL!!!!

Oh wow, that sucks. I've been thinking of a glass case for mine, but I am worried about it tipping over. Maybe I'd have to secure it to the wall or something. I'd go absolutely crazy if something like that happened. I have way too much money into this and I've only begun!

Securing to the wall is a good idea, particularly on carpet. But that wasn't my problem: While moving the cars on the top shelf, the shelf's support thingy fell out and the top shelf crashed onto the one below causing that one to give way. Etc etc. It was a chain reaction a bit like the Twin towers. I stood there helplessly watching the cars and shelves come down.

After I put all back together the same thing happened again. Then I got wiser: You need some putty to secure the support bolts in the frame. Otherwise they fall out way too easily. At least in my shelf.
