Accusump or not?

It adds/changes the baffling. It is easy to install once you have the pan off and you need to drill two holes to rivet a pair of 'wings'. Really simple stuff but last thing i need is oil starvation while on the track.

Thanks for the info . . . looks like no need to split the motor/g'box and do anything with the upper windage tray hopefully.

My 84 308 REALLY need help on the track with the right-handers too. Interestingly, it was never a problem before I started using track rubber. I installed the accusump and I give it about a C+. It's worth having but the problem didn't completely go away.

 

Well, i overfill oil a pint and use Mich Pilot Cup rubber (180 wear rating). According to my data acqusition system (Traqmate) i can only pull and sustain 1G in a turn, a bit more (1.2G) if the road elevates. Am planning to use Hoosier R06 next year and am looking to 'cure' things before they happen.

What rubber are you using? Want to avoid starvation. Many thanks as all help is always appreciated.

Yes, I installed a single line from the Accusump to the oil filter housing to where the sending unit was, then welded another fitting for the sending unit. The Accusump brings 3 features: 1. prelubes the engine before starting, 2. adds an additional 3 quarts to the system, and 3. prevents oil starvation during hard cornering. I also added a forward oil cooler.

In addition, if you are serious about tracking your car, I would suggest adding Nick's baffles.

 

Kumo Victoracers - shaved and heat cycled.. BEST tire for non comp track days for the money.
Hoosiers are light years better but cost more. At TigPrix the Victoracers may last two days if you are lucky and I just can't spend the extra on Hoosiers for that little lifespan (even though I would love to try them). Barbers Motorsports will see about 5-6 track days with the same Kumos.

 

Many thanks. Went with Pilot Cups as was afraid of the $$$ for Hoosiers over the 25+ track days a year. Seems the Cups wear like iron as i have plenty of tread left. Will check out the Kumos and decide in spring 2007. Again, many thanks.
