Now there's a conspiracy theory for you. It was known that Michael had planned to retire for months, just not publicly. It stands to reason that Kimi had also known for months that he was going to be driving for Ferrari. During this period of time there have been a couple of races where Kimi was in the lead, yet magically lost his place to Schumacher mid race (pit stops, etc.).

Disclaimer: Don't read too much into this. I hope Michael wins the championship and I am thrilled that Kimi will be at Ferrari next year. This is just something fun to speculate and talk about.

If Kimi did something like this, I certainly wouldn't want him driving for Ferrari.

Why not? He would have been following team order if it were true.

SLM is right. But anyway that would be weird if he was.

no no. i doubt if this is true. but, kimi publicly said last week that he hoped Ferrari will get both titles this year, yet, i doubt he will do anything to ensure that both titles go to maranello. heck, if he plans to do so, instead of giving the lead to michael, he should just take alonso out by purpose, Michael knows how to win races by himself. :D

Well put your self in Kimi's shoes.... he is out of this year's drivers championship, he is moving to Ferrari next year, MS is retiring, and Alonso is taking his place at Mercedes... for him it would be MUCH better for MS to win the championship than Alonso... because then going into next year Alonso will lose his mojo and Ferrari will be the top team to beat. It wouldnt suprise me at all if Kimi helps MS out here and there to beat FA.

    Way tooooooo obvious.

With all the negative publicity surrounding the penalites this year, especially involving Alonso, I doubt if you see anything more than what would resemble competition between drivers.

It is very clear that Renault, Flavio and Alonso are bribing other racers and offering kick backs to other teams in return for letting Alonso win!

Disclaimer: Don't read too much into this. I hope Michael wins the championship and I am thrilled that Kimi will be at Ferrari next year. This is just something fun to speculate and talk about.

Disclaimer: Furthermore I hope Alonso goes to NASCRAP!

As much as I like a good conspiracy theory I have to say no. Kimi has and will (for the next 3 races) only drive for himself. As he should.

The reasons for his DNFs are based on the McClonk under his behind. A bitter lesson that Alonso will learn starting next year.

I would believe it only if Mclaren were to use Ferrari motors next year, but we all know that is not going to happen ever. So in that respect, no way Kimi would have helped Micheal this season. He is running for Mclaren Mercedes and Ron Dennis will do everything he can to beat Ferrari.

I'm a bit slow, and realized only recently that Michael is in fact in the lead and, if he wins in Japan and Alonso breaks down, he is instantly WC. This opens up even more juicy possibilities! Such as the following: Kimi is leading at Suzuka, Michael is in second, Alonso breaks down. What happens next? Hmmm.....

Intentionally, no. Indirectly, yes. Because like any racer, KR wants to win just like any other racer.

As in China, I have wondered how much KR's start forced FA to push harder on those intermediates thus made FA/Renault to change his tyres. Keep in mind, KR was pushing GF pretty hard in the early stages. Which probably made FA nervous and went faster in an attemp to pull out as large of a gap before the first pit stop.

If Schumacher and Ferrari win the respective titles this year, who gets car No 1, Raikkonen or Massa?

Oops I just realised that there is a thread on this already.....disregard.

Alonso breaks down before Kimi? Yah, stay tuned for that.

First, Mercedes throws a huge party that they outlasted a Renault. :p

Then we get headlines that Alonso says Renault is helping Ferrari, Kimi is helping Ferrari, the Japanese are helping Ferrari, and Yoda's second cousin's sister's brother's former roommate is helping Ferrari ... ;)

... I'm still waiting to see if the reliability issues stay with the McLunk or stick with Kimi.

Kimi has the luck of SchlepRock. Let's hope it stays at McClonk.

Seriously, although they havn't been that dreadful this year and last year it deffinately was the car and not the driver.

Hopefully Kimi will be a good fit at Ferrari, he seems to be an extremely capable driver and should take the WDC easy if McClonk continues to have problems.
