Take her out to dinner at a decent place but nothing too fancy. Then go to a bookstore. If you are tyring to find out more about her this will give you an idea about what interests her. These days most bookstores have a cafe. So get dessert or coffee and then sit down and talk. Movies are useless because you don't talk to eachother.

I agree with dongerdude, making dinner is trying way too hard. It is your first date.

I took a girl once to our local mall. sounds exciting doesnt it. But, inside the mall was this fancy restaurant but if you went through another entrance they had a very elegant store that sold their cooking stuff and recipes and stuff. Anyways, they had a room off to the side was essentially several fancy kitchens stuffed into one. They put 5 couples in the room with a pro chef and you made your own gourmet dinner. There was wine and cooking and excellent food afterwards, she loved it.

 

hmmm...as a woman, these all sound pretty damn good. Especially the car dinner, but that is just because I am a Ferrari nut. As a college student, a first date of flying or the formal dining may be too much. I agree with the other guys, that you should just get to know her. Oktoberfest sounds good...one question though. I like the dinner-cooking idea. A guy who cooks is always aluring. One of my coworkers cooked for us over the summer, and he received many a marriage proposal. I also like the zoo, and I'd like to add canoeing. Balloons and planes is trying too hard. And anything ferrari related is kind of a turn off if you ask me. Especially if you have one. Don't bring it out on the first date.
