It has been done before! Mexico GP 1964. Last GP of the season, a title decider race. G. Hill, on BRM, leads the WC in points. Surtess on a ...Ferrari is second in the championship, a few points behind. During the race, Surtess's team mate, Bandini on a ...Ferrari takes the BRM of Hill off the road. The BRM is damaged and Hill stops. Bandini's job done. Surtess cruises to the finish and wins the championship. Obviously, there was no Todt, Briatore, Ecclestone, Mosley or Whitting at the time to cry foul, and all drivers were perfect gentlemen then, or were they?
That was Karma on Hill. In 62 Jim Clark was in the lead on the last lap of the last GP with his First F1 WC in shouting distance when he had a failure in the back of the car, and Hill came from second to take the Championship. If anybody takes out Alonso it would really be a bad move. Let the guys fight it out between them. No Putzy moves, unless Impy some how manages to get a F1 Ride in Brasil, we should be ok.
MS will win and FA will pull a Mansell 1991 Canadian GP move!!! Seriously, I'm hoping Ferrari will win the CC...
MS needs his "friends" to crash into Alonso, ie. Massa, little brother Ralf, the person who wants the #1 Kimi, and of course Ferrari's engine suppliers Spyker, but not Red Bull cuz they also got a Renault engine.
Alonso is such a hot head that he will be driving around the circuit looking at everyone else thinking they will take him out and he will crash on his own, then blame it on Ferrari
Our only hope is rain. Then if FA goes off track it's over, and there is no foul play but by foul weather. However the Bridgestones haven't been up to part this year in the rain. But then again we could get lucky. I say Schumi goes for broke to at least grab the constructors title. He may not get the drivers title but at least he'll go out taking the constructors. One title out of two is better than nothing.
We still haven't really seen the Michelin full wets, yet. Remember how Alonso finished Brazil in '03? (But then, both Ferraris boated off, that year.) But that was Brazil in April, not October.
Actually, BS has an upper hand over Michelins in heavy heavy rain, and changing conditions. Michelin OTOH, has good inters. i'm really really hoping for a real helluva thunderstorm. there's nothing to lose in this last race for MS. one last chance to see him in action in the soaking conditions, perhaps his last victory for Ferrari will be like his first for Ferrari. i want an action packed race, plenty of overtaking. PLS Rain!!!
Ferrari should make a deal with Torro Rossa or another team to take out the 2 Renaults in exchange for free engines next season...
What would I do if I were in Schumacher's shoes? I'd divorce that ugly cow he's married to and use my millions to buy Eddie Irvine's black book...
There should be no attempt to take FA out. I believe in fair play. It will be interesting to see how FA drives however. He should drive very conservatively, just enough to get in the points. If he drives very aggressively, he will take risks that are not necessary (Say an attempt to get by Massa to improve his position).
I would agree with Remy, it would be great to see MSC's last race in soaking wet conditions with him winning the race, doesn't matter what are the other results. And anyways it will make things more interesting. Astrand
