Sweet. Thats the only thing that could be leaking coolant at the front of the car. Heater hoses or heatercore/valve. ;)

Its very easy to do and is much easier than replacing a blown hose by the side of the road.

Stop leak is for emergencies, not for repairs.

Took the car out today for a 20 minute ride, got home and NO leaks. Took the carpet apart up front to look at the heater valve, etc--No leaks. After looking at my garage floor a little closer did notice a little coolant under the car where the motor sits. Called Lake Forest and told them what was going on. Talked on the phone with the service tech for almost an hour trying different things and inspecting things he told me to look for. Has him a little puzzled also, but they have been great. The service manager got on the phone and told me he was going to call Ferrari of Washington, the closet dealer to me, have them pick up the car next week and take it up there to try to figure it out...

NO leak from the front? :confused:Maybe there was a slight coolant weep there, now it has fixed itself as the coolant has dried and the coolant crust has stopped the leak. :p The leak from the rear makes sense as they just had the engine out for the service. Fair enough. Its good that they are picking the car up for you to check it out. Hopefully will be something minor so you wont be off the road for too long. Let us know how they go mate. :)

Sorry to hear your coolant woes although I am not surprised. You never really know what a car's prior life was like. Even with the major done I recommend all my clients have the basics inspected as well. For instance when I rcvd my car in January I had the entire car flushed. New fluids for tranny, oil and even a radiator flush. New spark plugs too. I replaced all of the fuses and got a new battery. I even went as far as to have each ECU ohm tested and put the Stabilitant 22 stuff eveywhere. I heard so many issues arrising from coils that I replaced them as well. When the oil was being changed, the guy noticed that the 1-4 crank sensor case was cracked. Stuff like that is why I do this preventative work. May be overkill but my point is people get hung up on major service so much that they forget that we are buying cars at a time in thier life when they need some TLC either from non use or age. I can say that my car is getting smoother and faster the more I drive it. I'm sure you know all of this but maybe some good info for someone considering a purchase or something. Please keep us posted. Richard at FOW seems to know his way around the engine.

So are your coolant leaks in front or in back?

I had a leak and it was the two small lines that go to/from the filler tank just on top of the motor. I pulled the plastic cover off started the motor waited till it got to temp and inpected every visible line with a flash light while running.

That's more like it. It's a Ferrari, you paid real money for a major and inspection. It 'broke' a day later. 'Nuff said.

Be patient. The car will need to work through some things at first. With the limited number of miles on your car, it is really just beginning it's life. It's just 'stretching it's legs' so to speak. Maybe just trying to let you know who's boss.

Weird alright. :) It will be good to still let them check the car over for you Robbie. Im sure they will pressure test the cooling system to make sure there are no more coolant leaks. Maybe even run the screwdriver over all the coolant hose clamps and make sure they are tight ect.....:) Sounds like its no big deal then. Great news. ;)

I actually borrowed a buddy's pressure tester to test it but don't have a fitting for the Ferrari. Not paying $50 for a fitting I will use just once..

Thats the problem trying to have all the specialist tools to maintain/work on these cars. You are probably better off buying that, because im sure you will use it again one day. Or you can lend it out to other Ferrari mates in the future. :p Are they still picking the car up for you on Monday to look at it for you mate? :)

Mine did the same after a left side radiator change. Looked like it sprung a leak just forward of the right side radiator, and left a puddle in a friends driveway! I was pissed, he was pissed! But it was a one time occurance. I assume it was a bit overfilled, it spit out what it didnt want, and hasnt leaked a drop since that day.

I was told the earliest they can get it would be Wed. As long as they do it and get it back to me--I need it for an event on Sunday...

Schedule your return delivery from FOW now if you can. Even if the service is done they still have to schedule into their delivery times. Speak to Josh about it.

did they by chance overfill the coolant and it is leaking out the overflow when you got it up to operating temp...? drive it like hell ,but only a mile or so from your house, keep checking the fluids. i bet you will be ok... the place where it leaking is the natural lowest spot in that cover , allthe way from the rear of the car, couldve even been a puddle left over from when the mechanic dissasembled it for the major svc.

Sometimes , 355's will do this. They sit for a while and all of a sudden they are being driven and will cough up some coolant. Hopefully that's all it is.
