I have only seen GTO's in pictures and once on the tube (Victory by Design), but after about the tenth time watching the History Channel clip I noticed a couple of things that I'm wondering about. First, when the driver floored it I expected to hear the "wolf howl" but did'nt (disappointing); the wolf howl is very pronounced in V by D. Second, when the driver was switching gears, I did'nt hear the "meat grinder." In V by D there is a definite grind. Did some of the GTO's come with synchro-mesh transmissions or am I missing something and why did'nt the GTO howl?. Maybe I should watch the clip another ten more times.

The sound quality wasn't that great on the History channel clip. The Victory segment had better sound recording IMO. It's all about where the mics are places and how the sound is mixed later.
