Frazer, I got the window gadgets yesterday and put em in today.

    HUGE IMPROVEMENT!

Thanks for the solution. My only problem was finding my 20-year old disintigrated speakers I had to replace. Added about an hour and a half to the job (up to the store & install time).

    Thanks again!

Installed the modules this afternoon in a 1980 308 GTSi.

I had already tried all of the conventional fixes (lubricated tracks, removed old grease, cleaned switches, etc.), and while these helped, they still seemed slow to me.

Now, my “down” times have been improved by ½ second (they are now 3 to 3-1/2 seconds), while the “up” times were improved by a full second (they are now 3-1/2 to 4 seconds).

Plus, the motors do not sound so ‘strained’ as they reach the end of their “up” travel – they buzz right up to the stops without hesitation.

    Four stars!

    Thanks, Fraser!

Lol, I did think of batteries for my car to start with, it was at the start when the cogs were starting to turn and before I came up with the polarity switching grounding module idea,

Just installed a second one of Frazer's boxes... I'd been so happy with the "test" on the 308QV's passenger side, but it made the slower speed of the driver's side that much more noticeable so I'd ordered another "booster" box. Frazer took my suggestion of have the "Y" cable option availably, which made installation even easier! Thanks again Frazer!

I am happy to report success with my 328 installation.

I only installed the unit on my passenger door since my driver's door seems ok.
My main complaint wasn't speed, but power. Getting the last few mm's up
at the top wasn't possible without opening the door. And you know that
when you wash your car, if you don't have those last few mm's what happens. :(

My up time on the passenger side of my 328 was 3.8 seconds.
Since installing the unit it is now down to 3.3 seconds.
Again, that doesn't sound like a lot, but there is a significant increase in power
when it reaches the top. Before, I could almost stop the window from rising
with my bare hand. Now the window overpowers me. And I get those last few
mm's without having to open the door.

Both doors now operate like new. Great stuff!

    Thanks Frazer!

    Wes

    Wes,
Another little trick is to spray the felt channels with silicone spray lube a couple times per year. I had the same problem with my previous 1978 308GTS with the driver's window struggling the last few mm's...after spraying it was like greased lightning! Reapply every 4 to 6 months and I never did anything else to my windows...never messed with the motors, grease or anything.

I remember reading that suggestion at the beginning of summer and yes, I did that, but it didn't do much for me. This unit did.

    But thanks! :)

Since you clearly don't have the expertise to figure that out on your own from the many other postings and threads on the topic, just buy Frazer's boxes where it's already done for you in nicely sealed boxes!

Okay.... Hopefully we have gotten past the slow window problems!! Can anyone help me with the problem of the power lock on the passenger side of my 85 308? It won't lock the door. Do I need to start another thread? By the way, I have sent an email to order the boxes from Frazer. When I bought the car money wouldn't/couldn't have been the reason. It was more like temp insanity. These boxes cost less than most other things on the car.

Today was the first true winter (aka, COLD, aprox 33 degrees F) morning for me to take the 308QV out since the window relays had been put in. They STILL move quick and smoothly. It makes them a "non-issue" like my modern cars instead of "boy, those are slow" every time you used them.

Since installing them in my 348, I have not had an issue with them. Throughout Winter and now we are into Summer. Not a problem. Whoever has not fitted them yet, should get some. :):)
