To anyone who has an opinion: I have a dilemma - someone offered to purchase my yellow CS; the replacement would be a 430 Spyder, delivery in May - options and color can be selected.

I love the CS and had a 430 Coupe before. Regretted selling the 430, but did so because I liked the styling of the CS at that time. Love the power of the 430.

    Time to move on?

    FWIW - I also have a CGT and 550.

430 Spyders are great. Ask me how I know.

But if you sell that car, you will regret it FOR SURE!

Perfect car/color. Did I tell you you'd regret it?

    Hey Fred, hows it?
Such a dilemna..... would you get another 430 coupe until the spyder comes in?
It doesn't seem like cs prices are going anywhere fast so probably no harm in holding until your car arrives.
    Are you getting a 599?

Keep the CS because of the styling. Since you said you love the power of the 430 get a Novitec s/c kit for the CS and you'll love it even more!

    Now that is good advice!!.

I am in the same delemma with a 430 spider arriving in Feb. and a GT3 RS in March. The dealer will give me $176,000 on trade which equals 191K with the tax benefit. He wants the car NOW though and I think I may regret it big time. How many cars do we need?? I figured the RS will offer me the raw-ness I love and the Spyder the Ferrari I need. I have the #1 allocation for a 430 based Stradale version but who knows if/when it will come, if I had that confirmation, this would be no delemma at all.

Man do we have problems huh?? Almost as bad as losing a leg!!

I wish I had the answer

i would not sell the 360 cs because i really don't know what could be had which would be as much fun to drive. i have an audi rs4 and am co buying with a partner a 911 gt3 rs. i see the ferrari as a great bottle of wine that will age gracefully and can be drank from occasionally. if you sell the cs 20 years from now you are going to be banging your head on the door why you sold it. just think how many 430 spyders will be made and how many cs in good condition there are out there!

I think for several reasons that in the future the CS is going to be one of those cars you wish you still had.

The 360CS is my all-time favorite Ferrari...so I'd have to say you're nuts.

I've seen your car in person in the Wynn service bays and it is in excellent shape. I'd hold on to it for a while longer, keep driving, and fall back in love with it. Take it to the track one weekend.

For financial reasons alone you should take the spider no matter if you sell the CS or not. Personally I would take the Spider but I am a ragtop guy. Either way you should get it and make a buck if its not what you want.

I think a lot of people are in the same boat..................owning a CS with incoming 430 coupes or spiders. I picked up a 430 spider in june and sold it in september. After weeks and weeks of pounding my head with the exact questions a few are asking here.........I decided that the CS put a bigger smile on my face on the limited times I did take out the Ferraris. My dealer allocation for another 430 spider is coming up end of this year for spring delivery. So here I go again with this identical dilemma. I fear I might make the same decision though :)

    1. Sell the CS and the 550, and buy an F40.

    2. Take delivery on the spider.

Just my 2 cents. Keep the CGT and F40 as your collectibles, and use the F430 for a while then trade it for something else. I think the CS will be the most collectible 360, but whether and when that might lead to appreciation, I have no idea. Perhaps you should have both "keepers" and "traders."

I agree to sell it, the fact that you even brought it up to me means you experienced it, its great, but theres something more out there and thats what you're after now. Its the dilema all of us exotic owners have, we always want something more.

You own the CS, so you know how it is, to some people, it is very special. There may be better faster cars as always, but special cars only comes once in a while. You also own a CGT, so you know the type of car it is and the driving experience you get out of it. You are not asking if you should replace the CGT with the F430 Spider, so you might be over the CS already. I would think the question is that amongst your fleet of cars, what do you have to give up for the incoming if you have to at all.

I think the CS market is fairly solid right now, good low mileage cars seem to be snatched up quickly. So selling the CS now might fetch a pretty good price. I would have a hard time giving up my CS for F430 Spider...but I don't have a selection like you do which changes opinions very quickly. A friend of mine who has had F40s, and currently still owns CGTx2, F50 and Enzo just bought a CS and he is absolutely loving the car and is looking for a second one for his wife. It is difficult to find a pristine low mileage CS at the moment. If you sell it, you can always buy another, but there are fewer and fewer low mileage cars to be had...if that matters to you.

If you are getting F430 spider at MSRP, you have to take delivery of it as you will come out quite a bit ahead. Otherwise, at the asking price of an available car now is a bit high, and I would much rather have a CGT over F430 for the money...but then you already have one. :)

Good luck on your decision! A fine fleet of cars you have!

Bottom line? There will ever only be 300 or so Stradales in the U.S. End of story. There are probably three times that many 430s already. The CS is and will always be a special car. You also have a yellow CS which is even more rare ... you'll regret it ...

    fred,
i think you are trying to rationalize selling the cs because you have the chance to purchase the spyder. :)
you don't say the spyder purchase is dependent on the cs sale?
i can see the attraction to the open air spyder but think in the long run the
cs will be kinder to your money.
plus you already have a better performing open air ride in your cgt.
i'd be more than happy to relieve you of the burden of either option! :D

Your CS is beautiful, a mind-blower to drive, and a great investment. See my post a few notches down that tracks CS values "CS vs. 360 Spider Price Stability and Trends"

As someone already said you have a CGT open top, so why do you need the 430 also? My suggestion would be to get the F430 if you can WITHOUT selling the CS, do whatever you want with the 430 but keep the 360CS and see if a 430 version CS is released.

Nothing will ever compare to that CS.

I would advised against it. Your CS is absolutely gorgeous and is a keeper.
