I didn't like the looks of the veyron at all until i saw it in this color, very tough looking. I guess i just don't like the two-tone, looks tacky.
deleted.... if you cant say something nice...... Lets just say Im no fan of hip-hop and the culture it promotes.... Terry
I don't really agree with you on the no talent part. Scott Storch is a really talented musician and part of the reason why he is so successful in music is because the records he produces have their own unique sound. I can see where you're coming from when you mention hip-hop music. Drugs and violence are overused in the lyrics. Scott Storch doesn't have anyhing to do with the lyrics though - he comes up with the music. He has worked with Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson as well as Dr. Dre, The Game and 50 Cent. They're all the same in his book. As for the "I have lot's of money and a complete lack of class" remark - to each his own really...if that's what makes him happy. Also, anyone that buys a Veyron is most likely a poseur, or they are going to act like a poseur at one time or another. I'm happy to see that he's doing well for himself.
terry - rap and hip-hop are just marketing genres now, not lifestyles. not so sure they are deserving of your disgust any more than 60s rockers are deserving of anyone's disgust 'cuz they were overly girl-crazy. the days of guys getting up out the street to become musical artists largely passed in the 80s. most of the popular hip-hop and rap stars today aren't the product of gang-banging and whatnot. the music industry figured out how to sell gangsta stuff to white suburban middle-class kids and have simply kept the formula running, with small evolutionary steps. but it's really just a formula now (90%+). even the old-school g's are primrarily business people first and foremost now - they ain't bangin' for sure. it's just marketing. doody.
From first hand experience. Scott Storch is a very nice and cordial person. He loves cars which is obvious. He is one of the most talented producers in the world. Some of the people he has worked with are already listed in this thread and not all of them are rappers. If you listen to pop radio you listen to his stuff. If you listen to hip-hop/rap you listen to his stuff. One of the nicest guys in the world considering he has the money, homes. boats and cars that would give him what some people would perceive as the abilty to be a pompous a**. He just plain is not. He is an extremely talented musician and one hell of a great person.
I'll take your word for it.... and I deleted the original post because it was in poor taste given I dont know the guy. I still do not like hip-hop nor the culture that it sure seems to promote. But hey, to each his own. If this guy is a really great musician then he has my envy... I would love to have talent in that area but am unfortunatly totally devoid of musical ability despite a great appreciation for it! Terry
Scott Storch is a stand-up guy, he was originally in the hiphop group The Roots. He left to pursue producing, here is a still from him leaving a club in LA... Image Unavailable, Please Login
He said it was red, however, there were several other cars in front of the house on both occasions. Maybe he was having guests over for a party or something, I'm sure you would know if he owned one...
It's one genre I've never tried to tackle. The beats are super simple to make and the melodies are extremely repetitive and basic. The key (and talent) lies concocting them in the first place. I just never had those industry connections or else I might have tried to see if I was any good with that style. RMX
"punk ass wigger"? Interesting. I looked at his sunglasses and open shirt and thought "who is this euro trash wannabe?" I'm no fan of redneck culture and the inherent racism and violence it promotes....
It was more the chains, jewelry and giant ring.... classic bling culture. Maybe its my age or upbringing but I just dont get that whole thing. I wondered how long it would take for someone to jump on the racist angle. Its like a global sport.... any possible excuse or rational that can result in someone being painted a racist is pounced upon regardless of how baseless or absurd. After all, if you can make someone else look like a racist your furthering humanity, right? And it also makes it clear the one doing the accusing is NOT a racist which is quite affective at assuaging the dreaded "white guilt" syndrome. All this however only applies to people with white skin. "Wigger" a racist term.... thats actually pretty funny. Im reminded of the classic Dave Chappel skit where he (playing an affluent businessman) pulls up beside a bunch of white kids all dressed up in gangsta rap high bling gear with hip-hop thumping, he yells out the window at them "******s!" <----- (the dreaded "N" word is so horrible its deleted by the filter!) and pulls away.... then all the kids look at each other, pause and start high-fiving each other and cheering. Hilarious! "Wigger" is a term that refers to white people. It is impossible to be racist toward white people, thus that cannot be a racist term. Racism is a phenomenon only possible toward minority populations. While I realise that any word that has two "G's" in the middle with an "I" in front and a "ER" behind is going to incite shock and horror among the general caucasian population I assure you the governing National Institute for the Greater Good of Ethnic Reform has ruled on this one. YMMV Terry
You must of been hanging with scott storch (he smokes only the finest of marajuana) when you saw that skit cuz you got it completely wrong. That skit involves dave playing a Black White supremecist. He was born blind and sent to a blind school so his teachers just told him he was white, hes far from an afluent businessman in the sketch hes playing a hick hillbilly racist named tyrone biggums. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CDJN2NEXi4 here is the actual skit.
No, thats a different skit.... the black white supremacist, another Chappelle classic! In the one I was referring too he is in a suit and driving a black SUV, and pulls up next to the white kids in a convertible at a traffic light. I have seen it on U-Tube or Google videos but cannot find it now. Perhaps Scott has access to the famous MILF weed?!?!?! As for me, once upon a time I had good taste in weed, but now Im just an old fart who couldnt FIND dirt weed even if I had a hankering. I reckon all the bling culture and such seems silly to me just like the stupid looking early 80s stuff I wore as a punk kid seemed absurd to my parents. Getting old.... Terry
Wondered what? Get away with what exactly? What do you have against Italians? Assign it? Assign what? Where I least approve? Who gives a crap whether I approve of something or not? Uhhhhhh, YES, it is. It is a term that refers specifically to certain white people. Thats it. Its also a term most often used in a comedic way. Well give yourself a politically correct prize! Maybe Bill Maher will have you on his show so you can look down your nose at millions instead of just a few. Then again, its YOU who has felt a need to resort to personal attacks. Like I said... ANY possible excuse to paint someone else as a racist is leaped upon in our politically correct culture regardless of context, meaning or intent. Now you are a mind reader AND an instant internet psychologist! Talent abounds within your head! Good luck with that. Terry
That was his old place. He now lives on Palm Island and I have a couple pics that I took of his house (not knowing it was his until I got home) Next time I'm up there, I will try to get better pics.
Terry, you are wrong. It is the Clayton Bigsby, Black White Supremacist skit. He calls them "N" when he hears the rap music but because he is blind can't see that they're white, thus the irony and why you thought it was funny. If you really want to look for it, you could try starting with the link provided in the post you replied to.
No, he is not wrong. I know the exact skit he is referring to it is not the TBWS. Dave pulls up to a bunch of white guys in a convertible, they are all dressed in hoodies, etc and he calls them *iggers!, then drives away. They all high-five and say "Awesome!". Definetly a different skit. Both are funny.
I just watched the whole Clayton Bigsby TBWS skit that was posted above.... I may in fact be confusing these because in that skit Dave does pull up beside some white kids in a convertible, call them _iggers and they high five each other. I would have sworn it was a different skit, perhaps they did 2 ? Anyhow, funny stuff. Dave rules! Terry
Well, at the moment my intent is to go carve halloween pumpkins for my kids. Not sure how its going to play out, but they insist on a "Power Rangers" pumpkin. I'll try to accomplish this in such a way as to avoid inciting a race riot. Terry
