My 03 360 will not comunicate with the inspection computer. I understand that a ground pin needs to be changed on the connector and this is a no charge recall. As my dealer is about 120 miles away I want to have this done localy at an independant but he is having trouble finding the schematics for the recall. Any one have details on this to save me the 240 mile round trip and waiting while the car is fixed. Thanks in advance Russell
You in fact need the new pin connector. At the end of the emmision test your car will read 2 open communication errors for system ready. (just like when your battery goes dead.) The car will pass all the tests prior to the final stage of your emmision test and then fail b/c of the open loop. Been there done that. ....just 2 weeks ago. Mario
Russel, were did you bring in your car ??? I need to get the inspection done also. I would try to call the dealer in Greensboro and just ask them to fax you the information. It's a 2. minute job to get the ground pin in. Give it a try.
It's not a recall. It is a campaign. They did my car recently, it took less than 30 minutes. They didn't replace the pins or plugs they just put a crimp on wire connector that shorted the ground to the proper pin. There are several posts but not sure if any have specific details.
Russle: I had mine done at FCI in Greensboro, took about a half hour freee from dealer. Wade said he could have done it here, but I was headed north anyway. Still need to get myine inspected.
