I dont get it. 430 Challenge cars are no secret, and not the same thing as a 430CS. Am I missing something?

Not to me it doesn't. After 2 + years CS ownership and now having a F430 the way the car sits is one the biggest exterior differences for me. You can clearly see the car sits closer to the ground in those photo's than a stock F430. As I said over a year ago the F430 CS (although maybe not called a CS maybe pista) is coming.

ps: From the pics it appears like the car has the CF steering wheel. Maybe this will come standard to match the CF dash and center consule/door sills.

Is it possible that they will have carbon mirrors and the like, but didnt want to draw too much attention during testing? That seems like an easy swap to the production cars that only needs wind tunnel testing. I was also hoping for a more aggressive front bumper, like that on the challenge cars, with the bigger slit in front of the front wheels.

this thread is so scintillating... possible 430 "CS", or possible 430 replacement mule, both make me extremely happy, and both leave me wanting to know more. Either case seems as if it could easily be the correct one to me... with the minor changes in aesthetics (which I love so far), could be the special version, with the major changes to come.
But, OTOH, maybe the minor changes were made only to allow for proper testing of the new V8 they are developing for the next model. What better place to test a new engine then in an already proven chasis?

I'm still left wanting more... hopefully Ferrari isn't just toying with us...

The rearend looks more dramatic, but that's it. From the front you can't tell a difference.

I would listen to A.P. (410 SA). The man obviously knows his Ferrari stuff.

Think positive - no 430CS, but new V-8 car and new Dino and Enzo replacement.

These next couple of years will be insane for Ferrari!

And if I lower a stock 430 what else will the exterior of a CS version tell me from every angle except the rear? No carbon mirrors, no special front bumper, no special side skirts, etc. From every angle except the rear the car does not distingusih itself from a stock 430. Being lower is not a major distingusihing factor.

LOL ...hahahaha. How are you liking the CS? I miss her horribly!!! I saw your thread about broken slats in the fenders? I just replaced the front two less than two weeks before you bought her?

That would still be 100 lbs heavier than the CS. I agree with Alex, probably a test mule for something else.

I am loving it! Have put almost 800 miles on the car. The rear passenger side is the side that's broken so i will probably get the replacement piece next week. how many more weeks til the new car arrive? :)

3-4 weeks approx! Freaking. I have not been without a sportscar for 5 years. It is pretty tough. The Crystler 300 and VW Tourag are just not cutting it!

The slats on the CS will break out almost everytime you track the car on club days and smethimes on the street? They seem to be the only weak link in the car! I only tracked the car a few club days but they broke out everytime! If the track is dirty with rubber, you pickit up on hot tires. It then flies off into those cheap plastic vents.

I was going to have someone make stainless steel mesh vents and put them in? One guy up here had done that and they never broke out again?

OK, that's what I thought you meant... "Several" times a week.
