Hang in there – it can be done. The patches worked for me, although the withdrawal lasted much longer than I expected. It’s been 13 years.

What amazes me is how many young people still choose to start smoking in the first place!? I work with many young kids/adults in my biz and it's sad to see. I tell them how i spent 9 months taking care of my late father after he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Im sure its easy for me to tell people this story of how I helped take care of him those 9 months and see the indignity, pain and suffering they would never light up again, as i have never smoked.
That said best of luck to you. You seem like the type that can do whatever you want set your mind to. The rewards of quitting are far greater than health related. No offense but everything else being equal i won't even hire a smoker.

Oh man. The cravings right now are almost unbearable! I can do it! I just want a cigarette so bad, I cannot even concentrate!

Chewing two sticks of gum at the moment...whoooa...

I also heard about some laser thing they zap behind your ears to reduce the cravings. since you definitely have a desire to quit it might be a good thing to add to the arsenal.

Still goin'. The past two days have been the hardest. The cravings were relentless, nonstop. Yesterday was worse than today, but today was no picnic. I have a pack in my car...haven't thouched them although I wanted to this afternoon.

Every time I've quit I've done a clean sweep- house, car, butts outside, basically whatever I could theoretically light on fire and stick in my mouth.

Man, I need to give this up again.. It crept back up on me about a year ago.

    Hang on, you're getting there...congrats!

Every day is another day in the bank...soon you'll look back and think "look at the time I've got now...do I want to blow it and have to start all over?".

Man, is my attitude foul. Whoooo. I have a mouth on me now that I didn't know existed. Just say the wrong thing and it's a torrent of expletives. I wish you guys could have heard me on the phone with a client today...someone tried to test me on something and got put right back in their place.

LOL. I saw a commercial of that video professor guy and immediately starting swearing at the TV. My fiancee was like wtf??

Damn, how long is this going to go on?

Don't worry mate, you'll get over it. When I feel awful with a headache, lack of sleep, not enough food, etc, I get snappy too. ;)

So I guess you've gone cold turkey, instead of the patches? How many days has it been now since you stopped?

Just make sure you drink lots of water, eat healthily and get plenty of rest during the withdrawl period, so you can isolate and track your progress without it being related to some other factor.

Yeah, I also went totally crazy my last time around...I just substituted booze for cigarettes when I got home from work...not that I'm advising it.

My wife put up with my mood swings and increased drinking because she really wanted me to quit.

Maybe you ought to call your doc and get a prescription for valium to get you through the next week or so...better than taking it out on your clients.

Hang on...another day's in the bank!

dont puss out on us...your stronger than that....seriously its your life...i remember when my dads best friend died of lung cancer, he was sealed in his room until he died...sad stuff that no one should have to go through, especially not for a f'n cigarette..
